Hey, after watching Diaz/Katsidis I'd really
like to see Kellerman himself get one of those
guys in the ring and do just that !

You'll never feel alone in that sentiment in
this sport.

I've got to consider him a very valid possibility
for this now that you've reminded me.

Yes... we cannot deny the fact that Jones dominated form 96 - '03 beating good fighters in that era such as Reggie Johnson, John Ruiz, and Antonio Tarver.

But after suffering that 2 straight loss from Tarver's vengence and a loss from Glen Johnson, His career decline. ('04-'06).

His 3 straight win over Hanshaw, Trinidad, and maybe if he could win this Calzaghe fight will make him be remembered as one of history's best.

But not this recent decade's best.

...I'm with you Tan, as for this, as for this decade...it's oviously Manny.

What do you want from me? They are good. Lewis did Clean out the HW division. Most of them are from the Same Division which is HW and Lennox beat all of them and Unified the Division. Which is why I acknowledged him above the others. Lets face it Jones in his Prime couldn't loose to anyone. He could have even defeated some of the all time greats. It was his lack of competition that led to the lack of disrespect but Jones made fools out of those in the same era as him. Remember what he did to James Toney back in the day? Floyd on the other hand doesn't have the same excuse as Jones. Jones fought on past his prime and is still fighting though his days of greatness are behind him he still once a crack at the top fighters of today. Floyd doesn't want to take on any of the top fighters. He had the take on the best mentality when he was young but he lost the "Eye of the Tiger" so to speak. What is sad is that most will not remember him for what he did but for what he could have done.

Good ones. Although Most of them where beat out by Jones from 90-2000 I think In the Time I mentioned Lennox Lewis would be the best pick. Mike Tyson was on his decline during that time as well. Rahman only got recognized for his lucky punch against Lewis.

Who else is there from 96-06? In that time frame they are the only ones that could be consider. Unfortunately same with Oscar. Jones was already fighter of the dacade though from 1990-2000. from 96-04 He could easily have been consider again. from his first fight in 04 forward though he began his epic downfall. Still I have a hard time finding anyone else? Who would you pick? not for 2000-2010 that pick is obviously Manny.

96-06=jones????? are you on crack?

maybe 96-00...............but past that...jones is chicken-shit. same with floyd............once he went up past 135......he is chickenshit. the glorification of fighters such as them and dlh has almost single-handedly killed boxing. to nominate any of them as the fighter of the decade to me is just a huge loogy spit in the face of boxing as i know it.

in other words....f&^%k jones and f&^%k floyd

they were the inspiration for brokeback mountain.

O_O it rhymes! lol! Floyd? A welterweight? Since when? Floyd won a title at 147 and 154. He is about as natural of a 147 fighter as Zab Judah. They both peaked at 140 IMO. If Floyd had stayed at 140 beat all of the best at 140 then yeah He could be consider but he's always been a JrWW hiding out as a WW IMO. I would have loved to see him fight Manny. I still wouldn't mind it. As far as fighter of the decade Nah The way Floyd went out in light of the exploding WW scene there is no way by the year 2010 people will say he's the best from the decade. Floyd would still have some stiff comp. If it where from 96-06 Jones would still be the top IMO.

id say if manny keeps it up.......disregard the possible dlh fight win or lose.......we all know that fight is shit....dlh looking to bankroll on another fighter.

manny is a contender........as is......

kelly pavlik. if he goes on to fight the best as he has, he'll be a sure contender.

bernard hopkins......we cant forget what he has done in this decade.

margarito.........if he continues to dominate the WW....he is a lock.........an avenging win against williams will help.
his win against cotto is absolute proof to me that he is THE WW to beat. f&%k floyd.

as for floyd...he'd have to come out and fight again to be the fighter of the decade...........and actually fight someone who is a top contender. if it were a 2000-2006....he'd be a top contender........but as fighter of the decade....he is just a pretender.
