Since it appears more and more likely that Calzage-Pavlik isn't going to happend this year, has the Arthur Abraham-Edison Mirdana rematch become a bigger fight? I would think so, since Ring Magazine has Abraham ranked as the #1 Contender in the middleweight division, an impressive performance in this weekend's biggest fight could increase the public's interest in seeing Pavlik-Abraham before the year lets out.

Abraham would've done that to Miranda regardless if Pavlik did or not. We'll never know now because Pavlik softened him up pretty bad!

Abraham's IBF belt stolen! IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham's successful debut in America unfortunately had a bad ending. Arthur and his brother Alexander had their rental car broken into at the Miami Airport while looking for a cart to help move their luggage just before leaving for Germany on Monday. According to BILD, thieves got away with King Arthur's IBF championship belt, IBF ring, video camera, camera, mobile phone, laptop and various gifts.

Enzo hints at Lockett exit! Enzo Calzaghe, father and trainer of Joe, would not be drawn on the issues surrounding his son?s controversial split from boxing promoter Frank Warren, but he did indicate that middleweight boxer Gary Lockett may retire from the sport. In an interview with Setanta Sports News during Steve Bunce?s Boxing Hour, Enzo said, "I?m happy with Gary. He?s having a well deserved rest. He?ll come back next week and we?ll have a chinwag together. It?s not like he?s walking away because he?s 31 years-old and at the end of the day there?s more to life than boxing. I hate the word quitting, but if he wants to do something else he has my blessing and if he wants to stay on board he?s got my blessing. Come next week we?ll sit down and talk things over." He will be missed! -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."

Miranda graduated to gate keeper in his last showing. Anyone who gets knocked down or knocked out repeatedly has a weak chin and will be consistently exposed. The tapes are in. Miranda's career is pretty much over. Just like Tyson. If he can't hurt you with a big punch he has nothing to offer.

Well Steve, I think some people failed to notice a couple of things. First of all, that Abraham took time to recover and look like his normal self in the tune up fights he took. In other words he was the same fighter he was before. As for Miranda, he was damn near decapetated by Allen Green and took a beating from Pav. In other words Miranda had lost more since the first fight, than Abraham had. JME I think you also have to give props to Abraham for lasting 12rds. It says a lot about Miranda, but I think it says more about Abraham's chin. If he really wanted to quit, he would have quit. He tried to take the easy way out, but when he saw he couldn't he balled it out. That's one of the reason why I think a Pav/Abraham fight would be great, b/c I just don't think Pav would knock Abraham out and Abraham is dangerous for 12 rounds. -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."
