Berto looked like crap. I think he's taking the route Zab Judah took. What's that? To be a celebrity amongst celebrities. He look like he was fighting for all the homeys on the block and the rappers. He didn't impress me, though he thought he was doing that by being flashy. Andre was my dude until this fight. He didn't listen to his coaches in the corner. He ignored them and went straight for the head which really didn't do anything to Forbes. It just made it a long boring fight. The reason why he fought that type of fight? I believe its cause he knew forbes couldn't knock him out. He also feels like he is the hardest hitting puncher and wanted to be the first to knock him out with a head shot. I think he could've had an easy 8th round knock out by digging to the body early in the fight.. Instead we watched a boring ass fight for 12 rounds. Come to think of it i compare Andre Berto to a young Jermaine Taylor. Ego's + arrogance = Destruction. Although, Andre felt at his best i think Cotto could've beat him that night. Clottey would crush him and Margarito would put him a mental institute. It's sad to me because Berto has tremendous potential but not if he shows that ego and cockiness that he carried through out that fight. He didn't look like a champ to me. If your not listening to your corner-men why are they even in your corner? Someone needs to just sit his bottled water and vasoline next to his corner so he can do it all by himself. No smarts, just muscles, conditioning and ego. He was the undercard too. -- Edited by Shadik at 09/29/2008 9:23 AM PDT

> cintron kills berto, please make that fight! > > Not even close. Berto kills Cintron. Cintron has proved he won't fight back. And I don't care how much Manny works with him, he don't have the ability to outbox Berto. Cintron is an easy target. Quintana would be a tougher match for Berto.

Cintron and Quintana or better match ups. Judah is not. Judah doesn't even use his speed advantage. He throws one punch at a time. Berto will be the aggressor all night. For those of you who are saying Cintron will crush berto is based on an assumption that Berto can't take a punch. Because if Berto can take a punch. Cintron is too slow, not skilled enough, lacks defense. But we know can hurt Cintron and he'll probably b.t.h up.

Not that Judah deserves another beating, but i think he'd be an interesting matchup for Berto. Andre hasnt seen that kind of handspeed before. I wouldnt mind seeing him fight Cintron or Quintana either. Clottey and Berto are about equal in defense. Berto hits harder. I don't think that's a wise move for Zab. Cintron and Quintana are more likely. Cintron has almost no defense and size wise Quintana is more his speed with not as much power. I think he could do a number on Quintana if he didn't have a melt down. Quintana has a ghost or two in his closet now.

My prior sentiments of future Berto opponents, 3 opponents come to mind: Collazo, Quintana, and yes Zab "the gate keeper of old" Judah -- "because I am hard you will not like me, but the more you hate me the more you will learn, I am hard, but I am fair, there is no racial bigotry here" ~ Full Metal Jacket. -- Edited by rikyricardo79 at 09/30/2008 5:41 PM PDT

And if Berto would have fought him then it might've been a different story. He's on the list of fighters to fight now which is a complete waste of time.

Not a huge fan of Baldomir, but he's a legit fighter and he won the welterweight title legitimately. Whether you choose to recognize him as a "champion" or not, that's precisely what he was.

I personally feel that Berto is someone to watch over the next few years. As far as looking good against Forbes...it is kind of like trying to look good against B-Hop, it is really hard. I agree with everyone about Berto not getting flustered in this fight. Most green boxers would have got frustrated and made a mistake, leaving an opening for a veteran boxer like Forbes to expliot. This didn't happen even once. I said Forbes would win this fight by decison, but I was VERY wrong because Berto isn't your typical fighter and he owned this fight. This being said, I also have to ask...what fight were you watching?

He's confident that is for sure. I like to see that in young fighters but he's began writing out a big check with his mouth.
