No charges against Campbell #1 IBF mandatory ready to fight champ Juan Diaz! After reviewing all available evidence, the Hillsborough County State Attorney's office has declined to pursue charges against boxer Nate Campbell relating to his September 27 arrest following a domestic disturbance. Campbell had been arrested on felony charges of armed burglary of a dwelling with assault, false imprisonment and tampering with a witness plus a misdemeanor charge of battery. Campbell was arrested by Hillsborough County Sheriff officers allegedly after an altercation with his girlfriend. Campbell was later released on his own recognizance. Campbell, the IBF #1 mandatory challenger to unified Champion Juan Diaz, was understandably relieved when advised of the November 20th decision filed by the State Attorney's office. "I've said from the beginning that there are two sides to every story, and I'm just glad to have this officially behind me, and can now focus all my energy on winning the world title" said Campbell. "I also want to thank my family, friends, and fans who stood by me while this process ran its course, and didn't just blindly believe what they may have read somewhere." --- Just adds another dimension to 135.

I'd like to see Juan make quick mandatory title defenses against both Katsadis (wbo) and Campbell (ibf). Both good tv fights. -- ....Ricky Hatton didn't fight no 43 Floyd Mayweather's. And if he did he would be 0 and 43.

KAT?S BACK Michael Katsidis is back in the gym and beginning preparations for his next bout, no matter who it comes against. He and his trainer/manager Brendan Smith were at the Wild Card this week and sparred six rounds on Wednesday. The cuts he suffered from his bloody war against Czar Amonsot in July seemed to have healed up just fine. Both Katsidis and Smith seem to have no problem about the 20-80 split they would have to take in order to face lightweight champion Juan Diaz (no, it's not Joel Casamayor). They believe what's most important is the opportunity to face 'the Baby Bull' and that they will be more than fairly compensated after they come out victorious. Now that's the fighting spirit. The purse bid for Diaz-Katsidis takes place on Tuesday. http://www.maxboxing.com/Kim/Kim112607.asp
