Yea i dont understand why Clottey hasnt been able to get good fights since he beat Zab Judah, Kermit Cintron was supposed to fight him & backed off to take another fight & a higher weight class. Atleast Cotto takes on all comers. Should be a great fight, i like cotto by decision.

I think we r in for a potential fight of the year between cotto and clottey. I see them both coming forward throwing vicious blows!!! I am picking cotto to win but a clottey win wouldnt surprise me at all. Clottey has some good speed and we have to wonder if cotto can get to his body without taking too many punches to the head!

That's a bad comparison in my opinion Gluvs. Cotto didn't find Margarito's body because he never looked for it. The way Cotto fought showed me that he was worried about being KO'd from the moment they signed the fight. Mosley hit Margarito with so many right hands, damn he just landed another one, that people have forgotten that he went to Margarito's body very effectively. But, I with you that Clottey will go into his shell and Cotto's body attack won't be as effective as it normally is. But, this is a double edged sword for Clottey. He could render Cotto's offense ineffective. But, if he gets too defensive and not punch, he will be outworked for a decision. Cotto is the star of this promotion and he's the one with the superfights down the road. Even if Clottey KOs Cotto, he ain't gonna see the likes of Mayweather, Pacquaio, or Mosley anytime soon, if ever. With all the money that stands to be made, or lost in this fight, Clottey is gonna have to KO Cotto to get a draw.

Personnally, I would like to see the 2 people that defeated Marge despite marge's plaster wraps, fight each other: among the many fights I would like to see PW in. -- I came I saw and I conquered -- Edited by cargilb1 at 06/01/2009 11:54 AM PDT

That is how he reacted to no seeing an inch of the body. I imagine he will react the same, but this tiime be more insistent on making an opening to the body. I see this as a pick'em fight but don't think either will blow the other out. It should be a good fight. -- I came I saw and I conquered

Hitking/Steve.... Ponder this: Cotto is known for being a brutal body puncher...it's his bread & butter and he's made a solid name out of it. Now.....Margarito didn't give him an inch of his body. No matter what Cotto did, he couldn't find Margarito's rib cage or short ribs....no matter how much he tried. Clottey's people UNDOUBTEDLY seen and know this. What do you think Clottey is gonna do ? How much of that body , do you think Clottey is gonna expose ? Answer: None. It'll be interesting to see how Cotto reacts this time, when his body attack is rendered useless........ -- "On Mosley, first off, coming from a known steroid user he ain't even allowed to open his mouth about me.." - Real Talk from, Floyd Mayweather.

If Cotto is a 10, Clottey is a 9.5. Pick em fights like this usually come down to hunger. Clottey knows if he loses, he's probably never on this big a stage again. Cotto knows he was one of the most forgiving fan bases in boxing. Cotto also has the psycological disadvantage of knowing he quit his last time out, I don't count the Jennings' fight. Cotto also knows he has the excuse of his uncle screwing up his camp. At days end, I just think Clottey will want it a little more, and win the fight.

Clottey seems to be more solid bodywise than most in that division, he looks tough, he hits hard, he'd be a tough challenge for most I think. Who do you guys think is the quicker of Cotto and Clottey? This fight is a tough one for me to predict, I am leaning towards Clottey but like Cotto better. I also am curious to see how Cotto will do without Evangelista in his corner. I don't know who he's bringing in instead.

i agree that paul williams is a duked fighter and i think cotto knows better than to fight him.. you see with guys like clottey and margarito they sometimes look beatable but then people find out that they are much better than they look to be when you get in the ring. paul williams cannot hide his huge reach advantage or workrate and chin. as much as williams is duck clottey did call him out and clottey went as far as saying that he would go up in weight to fight him at 154. williams responded with trash talk but no real interest in fighting clottey. now im not sayin clottey would beat paul williams as a matter of fact i would pick clottey to beat anyone he gets in a ring with except paul williams because willams s a freak of nature. but i think it would be an excellent fight ... remember quintana was supposed to lose the first time they fought -- "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities." -Albert Einstein
