http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=23138 That would MOST DEFINETLY SHAKE THINGS UP!!! Chad Dawson is willing to step up to the plate..and you know what fellas: I got him taking it all. Way to step up America's young Lions: Williams, Dawson, Mayweather, Ward! Thoughts on Dawson joining guys ? Can it happen ? And if he's entered - do you also see him taking it ?

::::::::::::::::::::::::I hear ya Gluvs. The key to beating Hopkins is to stay busy. If you sit and try and strategize, You'll lose, If you try and use defense and walk him down, you'll lose and if you're slow, you'll lose. Hopkins is a sneaky fighter so you have to constantly throw at him to keep him at bay. Dawson can definately do that. especially if Taylor can. To Taylor's defense, he's still a good fighter with great offense. If he had anything else to complement his offensive attack, he'd be at the top, period. Since he doesn't, he only beats some. I think Ward shocks the world and wins it all, or loses to Abraham.:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Boxing righted itself and continues to do so in Taylor's case... He was given gift decisions over Hopkins, has shown zero improvement, has zero analytical skills, no recovery, no chin, limited defense and now has been KO'D 3 times by good (but not great) fighters.... Folks been holding it down but Jermain was done from the first KO by Pavlik imo...

HBO paid a LOT of money for that junk Dawson-Tarver rematch to get Chad onto the network. The Super Six has been a PR godsend for the archrival boxing network. HBO might let Chad walk, but it sure as hell won't be for that. I think the first preference is for Chad's growth into stardom to be on HBO. I think Chad fighting the Bute-Andrade winner or the winner of the Pascal-Diaconu rematch (especially if its Pascal) is far more likely a scenario.

Beating up smaller guys to win acclaim is all the rage these days. The only guy out there kicking the shit outta bigger guys and doing it impressively is Pac.

I think that would be great for Boxing too if Dawson did manage to get into the Super Six, no disrespect to Jermain Taylor but at this stage with a bunch of losses in a row, I think an opponent like Dawson could really shake up the tournament and make the competition tougher. Dawson still has to get by Johnson though so we'll see what happens.

If I'm Dawson, I'm calling out P-Dub at 170, a rematch with Adamek for the cruiser title, or the Bute-Andrade II winner at light heavy after I'm done with Johnson.

Because he's about 45 now. I wouldn't think that fighting a big, strong, fast, skilled, and more importantly primed southpaw like Dawson is in the best interest of a guy who's closer to 50 than he is 40.

But after I rewatched his fight with Ian Garnder from a few years ago, i'm in agreement with Jabs. Dawson can't handle movers. Ian Gardner was a mover but not a effective one. He made Dawson look ordinary, none of the skills he displayed vs Tarver or Adamek. B-Hop would pick him apart with side to side movement and win a comfortable decision IMO. -- Edited by CroatianSensation at 10/30/2009 2:35 PM PDT

Not because they are American, because he is a gifted athlete and can sustain his effort. I don't see Johnson winning.

Man, this is a tough f*cking crowd! Seriously, do you guys think there is just 1 good fighter in boxing? Come on! Chad Dawson is a bad motherfucker! He's got a shit chin, but the guy is very, VERY good.

I thought Dawson beat Johnson convincingly. Johnson fought well enough and landed some nice shots, but thats is. The judges got it right. Fans got too happy and felt there needed to be a rematch. Dawson will do the same thing he did their last fight, so will Johnson and Dawson will win again. Any fight with major fighters is intriging. Who wouldnt want to see Dawson vs Kessler, but Dawson is in a good position. He is young. His top competitors are almost out the door, and if Hopkins doesnt want to fight him, all he has to do is keep winning. The fights will come to him at 175lbs. After the tournament is over. These guys are going to need a dance partner

Beat Johnson, Try to get the fight with Roy or Hop and establish yourself as the top dog in the division. Guys like Cloud and Pascal I'm pretty sure want a crack at him. Eventually a lot of these guys like Ward, Dirrell, Kessler will want to come to 175 for a big fight. Dont chase them let them come to you
