VERNON FORREST: NO MORE MR. NICE GUY By G. Leon Forrest goes OFF on EVERYBODY! GL: It's not very often I get a call from you in the wee hours of the morning wanting to do an interview, what's good Vernon? " I just want to let everybody know that it's no more Mr. Nice Guy, and let it be known that the Viper is here, and the Viper can't be avoided." GL: Who is it you're sending that message to? Vernon Forrest: I'm sending that message out there to everybody, from 147-160. The Viper is sending it to Mayorga, we'll start with him first. We need to make that fight. Next time we fight, I'm not trying to win the fight, I'm trying to end his career. I'm trying to put him in the hospital, I'm trying to break his neck. If I kill the mutherfucker than that's what it is . GL: I spoke with Mayorga and he consistantly tries to downplay a third fight with you as though it's an option that's beneath him. I don't understand his logic, but is that only adding to what you're going to do to him if you ever get him back in the ring? VF: The first time I fought him, I fought with one arm. Now I'm fighting him with both arms and all my weapons. I can't wait to get him back in the square circle. It's going to be something tragic up in that ring that night. GL: Other than Mayorga, who else would there be tragedy in the ring with? Who else do you want to put some hands on? VF: I want little Floyd. Little Floyd came up to 154 pounds, fuck little Floyd - let me stop that. Let's talk about De La Hoya. GL: Do you know that little Floyd and Oscar are fighting again on September 20th? VF: Is that right? GL: That's right. It's not final, but it's definitely what it's looking like. VF: To De La Hoya, we've been around for a long time. He fought some of the best fighters in the world. I beat a guy who got a couple of wins on him, he beat a guy who has a couple of wins on me. I think he's one of the best of our era, and I'm considered one of the best of our era. We're the ones that haven't fought each other. Stop being a little pretty boy pussy and let's make this fight. Stop walking around wearing drag, lipstick and lace , let's go back to the business of fighting. Editors Note: Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaeffer was unavilable for comment earlier today. GL: Are you sure you want to put that out there? VF: Damn right. GL: Cory Spinks yesterday told me that you're scared of him and that's why you don't want to unify titles. VF: When I can make more money fighting Cory Spinks, than I spend paying my trainer, then you'll catch me fighting Cory Spinks. GL: You don't think there's any money in that fight at all? VF: No, I mean no one wants to watch Cory Spinks on TV. Cory brings nothing to the table, that's why he's on the undercard. He's a former undefeated champion on the undercard for $25,000, because no one wants to see him fight. The only reason why Don King is fucking with him is he's got no other choice. As soon as he can make some money, he'll dump him off. When he puts some numbers up, and there's money to be made, we'll fight. GL: In previous personal discussions you've told me you think he should unify the titles, and that will make the fight bigger. Do you care to reiterate on that? VF: Yeah, if he wants to make some money, and get me in the ring, let's see him and Alcine unify. If they unify, then we'd have a big unification fight, and make some money. Until then there's no money out there for me fighting him. No one know's who he is, except for his mother and father, and no one wants to see Cory Spinks fight. Would you pay to see Cory Spinks fight? No, keep it real, no. I know he's your boy and everything, but you wouldn't pay to see him fight. You appreciate good boxing, I appreciate good boxing, I don't want to pay to see someone who runs for 12 rounds, and then think he won the fight. I don't want to see that shit. I want to see a motherfucker putting his ass on the line, like everyone else does. GL: Okay, anybody else? VF: Floyd, he's the best fighter in the world, bar none. Bar none, he's the best fighter in the world, and you can't take that away from him. Right now he's the hottest fighter, he's on top of the game. Trust me, I'll shut that shit down. When and if we get the opportunity to get in the square circle, all that little shit he does, I'll shut that shit down. I'll shut it down, with some basic shit. I'd like the winner of Pavlik-Taylor. I think it's going to be another good exciting night of boxing. The winner has to go somewhere. At the end of the day, Pavlic is still the middleweight champion of the world, win, lose, or draw. He's a guy that has tremendous ability, heart, and skill. I'm one of the good guys out there right now. I'm looking forward to it. I'm sick of guys disregarding the Viper, and not putting him in the conversation when they're talking about who to fight with Cotto. I've got nothing against Cotto, he's a tremendous fighter. What he did in his last couple of fights is phenomenal, fighter of the year is between him and Pavlik. Between them which one do you like? I would beat the dog shit of out little Miguel Cotto, I would beat the dog shit out of him. I just want everybody to know that the Viper is back, like Fitty said, this is a warning shot. GL: Closing thoughts? VF: To all my fans, holla at me www.myspace/vernonforrest. Holla at your boy. Send questions and comments to: gleon@boxingtalk.com -- "That muthafucka ain't on my level".

On a scale of 1 to 10 this fight doesn't even register.

Vernon Forrest-Sergio Mora Deal is Reached

"The negotiations appear to be done, Dan Rafael reports that a deal has been reached between WBC junior middleweight champion Vernon Forrest (40-2, 29KOs) and Sergio Mora (20-0-1, 5KOs), who won the first season of the "Contender" reality series. The bout will take place on May 10, on Showtime, with a venue to be announced at a later date. Mora has fought at middleweight for the majority of his career and will move down to 154 to challenge Forrest. Neither fighter has been able to secure a name opponent, forcing them fight each other with the winner being in line for a potential payday in the future." Most likely Mora will be exposed by Forrest. -- THE TRUTH: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBH-p7CRr0g

I don't think Tito can make 147 to begin with. Tito would murder Quintana and Cintron. Cotto is the only real choice and I don't see a plausible catch weight for this to happen. -- "What kills the skunk is the publicity it gives itself.". ~Abraham Lincoln~

He can't stand the attention going to the other PR champs. I think He should challenge one of them. His Super loyal fans are convinced he can get down to WW. So why not Try to take on Cotto or Cintron or Quintana? -- YES WE CAN! -- Edited by Tanalyst at 02/15/2008 1:27 PM
