Seems like light ages ago when I saw Evander cheated at the 84 olympics. He had to be jealous seeing all the gold his teammates were wearing after the games. But , in my opinion, he's had one of the best careers in the post Ali era. A former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, Evender was the real deal. Skill and heart seems to be a rarity these days. With the multi talented K- brothers hogging the heavies down with their methodical yet boring as hell title defense, I've take to watching youtube to see how real boxers perform. I hate to say it this way because I can aleays find words to express my thoughts, but I'd rather watch pig fucking as a sport than those two, which brings me back to the content of this post. Where does Evander rank in the hearts of true boxing fans ? -- "Every man has the right to his own opinion, but no man has the right to be wrong in his facts." Unknown

I believe Evander made his mark exceptionally well, It's hard to really not have him on a top list. I'd say a top 20 Heavyweight for sure. -- "Pain is weakness leaving the body" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCdrokoLBPs

Interesting question. I liked him a lot once upon a time and would probably, in my lifetime, rank him in the top 10. But his last few fights were questionable enough that I'm not sure I would. I don't know where he'd rank if I thought of it overall not just my lifetime. -- ~Susan

Heading out tomorrow night to a few choice spots. Friday is a day of landscaping- too much rain has shit growing like wildfire & giving little time for getting rid of. Looking forward to doing nothing that night, except make a sangria for a big-time BBQ with family & friends on the 4th. Weather-permitting....hitting the Jersey shore on Sunday morning, & contemplating extending the weekend through Monday. All-in-all....great American fun.

The Spinks who lost to Tyson was a terrified, rusty, ready to hit-the-floor fighter.

He's the only guy to KO Larry, & he really smoked him. Larry not only was never KO'd after that, he schooled Mercer, & really troubled Holyfield & McCall in title fights years after Mike mopped him up.

Burbick, Ruddick...and a whole slew of non-'gimme' bouts. come on man......Lewis hasn't really beaten anyone of note- who was in their prime. Lewis lacks a defining fight? Well, so does Tyson. Don't give me Spinks, either.

tyson's an interesting character and if he had his head right he would have been in the top 3 or 4 HW's. His downfall was his immaturity and his attaraction to the ghetto hype life. but despite that potential high ranking he was always susceptiuble to a fighter with a geat jab, long reach and a good chin, and ali and holmes and lennox in their best days have a better than good shot at taking him out. -- I came I saw and I conquered -- Edited by cargilb1 at 07/01/2009 3:26 AM PDT -- Edited by cargilb1 at 07/01/2009 3:27 AM PDT -- Edited by cargilb1 at 07/01/2009 3:27 AM PDT

Yeah I went back and forth with that and let Holyfield's spotty record towards the end be the factor.....but they both have those. And I still have the Ukrainian to consider. So how about I just split the number ten spot between the three of them ? -- http://therealnews.com/t/ http://english.aljazeera.net/

Tyson beat a bunch of old guys past their prime. As soon as he got in their with a great he got his *ss kicked. What great fighters does Tyson have on his resume? Meanwhile the Real Deal fought Foreman, Bowe, Lewis, and beat up Tyson. Who did Tyson fight before his whippin from Holyfield? He only fought them tough fights after his career was basically over....
