Has anyone heard of this? Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. will bank $20 million for his March 30th appearance on Wrestlemania 24, WWE chief Vince McMahon said at a Monday press conference. I remember Floyd coming up and this is what he always wanted. He's always been that little kid that just wanted attention. He knew he was great and wanted the world to know it. It sucks that he's not fighting Cotto, but hell if I got paid that much for a fake match, you bet your ass I wouldn't be fighting the Cotto's and Margarito's of the world. BTW I'm incredibly amazed at the fact that cuppo or Dup don't already have a tread for this. -- Eric Raskin advice to Manny "Maybe Steward needs to go back to using the Ric Flair chest chops that motivated Lewis to finish off Mike Tyson. Some guy at work said that he was showing off his money and some wrestler threw him out of the ring on his head.........vaudeville. Now Andy Kaufman......there's a wrestler I can admire. Just to see him work a crowd is worth suffering through the rest -- She was for the war before she was against the war.

Was Floyd on Raw last night? I wasn't around to catch it and see what's been going on with that.

that's true jabbs. Gluvs I used to watch Wrestling religiously. There's guest wreslters left and right, but it hardly ever draws anybody to the sport or whatever it is that the guest wrestler does. Fans of Wreslting love action, EVERY night in EVERY match there's something that they want to see. Boxing is totally different and most kids that love wrestling HATE boxing. I don't see how it will help the sport at all. It will help Floyd get more exposure, but at the same time him doing this things hurts the sport more b/c there are real fighters he could be fighting during this time. What really helps the sport is good fights. You make good fights and there's no need to get outside help for the sport. -- William Dettloff "Vazquez and Marquez have more heart and balls in their little pinkies than Klitschko does in his Volkswagen-sized head."

If this foray of Floyd's into the WWE can actually draw new fans into the sport of boxing....great. But, if it continues to blur the line between the two entities....not good. My blood runs cold when I hear people refer to boxing as "wrestling". -- Edited by jabsRstiff at 03/11/2008 10:24 AM

I don't see how this is great for boxing, but Floyd looked like Mascarita Sagrada did while getting tossed by Torito. -- William Dettloff "Vazquez and Marquez have more heart and balls in their little pinkies than Klitschko does in his Volkswagen-sized head."

> > But then maybe my memory sucks since I haven't > watched it in about 20+ years? Then you cannot possibly keep up with the conversation. DJ I always liked Vader. Pretty cool character and a very good wrestler. One of my favorite characters was Phsyco Sid, but he's another guy that just didn't have enough wrestling abilities. I always enjoyed watching Sabu, RVD, Mysterio etc.. guys that could do some sick moves. That's what really entertained me. Also the Mankind/Undertaker fights where classic. The choke slam the Undertaker did on Man kind from the top of th cage is probably the sickest move I ever saw. Fake? fake my ass!, I don't care if there was pillows underneath that ring I have no clue how Mankind got up from those beatings. -- William Dettloff "Vazquez and Marquez have more heart and balls in their little pinkies than Klitschko does in his Volkswagen-sized head."

body I see what your saying and I agree. Flair had some amature backround but not enouph to impact his ability in ring. Vader is my all time favorite "big man" I still am amazed he only broken one guys back. to Hatemonger. Is it scripted yes, are what they do in the ring scripted? no. They dont go ok. here is how our match is guna go, move by move, that just happens. Some pors have legit amature Backrounds. Lesner, Angle, Steiners, and Lashley are prime examples. Also pro wrestlings wreslting ability is all about wrist locks, chain "wreslting" where they do a series of moves, submissions, slames, extc. If you watch Bret Hart v HBK from WM 12 thier iron man match a good chunk of the first 15 min orso is mat work. -- "Just when they think thay have all the answers, I change the questions!"

" I keep up just fine. You guys are talking about wrestling ability in a scripted "sport". Whether any of them can really wrestle or not isn't relevant. It's scripted dude! Alot probably did really wrestle in school or something but so what? They aren't really doin it now. Maybe some of the guys that "look" like they know are just more coordinated physically and have an easier time re-hearsing? It doesn't mean they have mastered the discipline. But then maybe my memory sucks since I haven't watched it in about 20+ years? -- ------------------- Who would Gatti be in a dream fight with? > When i was younger my guys were Jimmy Super Fly Snooka, George the Animal Steel, Coco Beware, Junkyard Dog, Andre the Giant, the Iron Sheek, and Brutus the Barber Beefcake. Wrestling is a form of good theatrics, with storylines, and does require alot of practice and skill to perform alot of those moves properly. I havn't watched wrestling ever since; my teenage years, but overall, it's a good form of entertainment for some adults and kids. Andre the Giant. I used to watch wrestling, not the WWF/E - but before that. There were 3 brothers I used to enjoy watching - Erikson's? Kerry was one of the brother's names I think. Oh my, I haven't thought of that in a long time. -- ~Susan
