the superWW are shaping up nice. maybe we can get some of them to fight, since the there seems to be a freeze on fighting fights dangerous to ones career everywhere else. I would love to see MArtinez in there against forrest . By the way, Argentina had a fighter named niccolino (the Untouchable) Locche, who did all the stuiff that Martinez was doing. I don't know if martinez is so much a RJJ admirer or an admirer of his fellow country mate, Niccolino. Angulo switches from southpaw to orthodox with the ease of a mike hagler. ODLH will retire soon, as he doesn't want to fight any tough fights and the SWW is becoming a tough division, as not only do they have tough old fighters there buit the newbies are shaping up real well; In addition to that, there are a few WW that can join the mix if they want to RISK it. -- I came I saw and I conquered -- Edited by cargilb1 at 10/05/2008 11:20 AM PDT -- Edited by cargilb1 at 10/05/2008 11:32 AM PDT

umm, he wasn't making an accomplishment comparison, or a status comparison to RJJ. he was just saying that the guys game is speed, like RJJ. he beats his opponents with speed. obviously its true, but martinez, altthough speedy, fights nothing like RJJ: stylistically. RJJ did not jab as much as martinez, and he was not as willing to mix it up as much either. RJJ was a pot shotter. Martinez does take risks. the comparison to RJJ, beyond speed, may never be appropriate in martinez's case. -- I came I saw and I conquered

i don't need to mention santos in every thread and post i make. They can go for santos too, but i would rather see santos get a big money fight, and get rewarded for being a champ for over 10 yrs and beating a person that is being hyped to be a great fighter: marg. I would rather see him fight marg. or iwilliams or odlh. I would pick santos against all those guys and the new crew too: angulo, martinez, and the likes. if martinez drops his hands and against santos it will be a short night. -- I came I saw and I conquered

>I could see him beating almost all of 154 in its current form. Same could be said for Angulo or Kirkland. I agree completely. I'm actually a little excited about the future of JrMw right now. It's the first time in a long time there has been this kind of talent bidding for top seed. There's some good fights to be made here.

>Sergio Martinez is good but it is too soon to compare him to Roy Jones all of a sudden. That was a little over the top. I think they were drawing their comparisons to the way he drops his hands. He doesn't have Roy's speed or athleticism but he does have what it takes to be a force in the current pool of fighters in his class.
