For these reasons: Strength wise, Hatton will be stronger, so pushing him around coming forward is out of question. That would leave Pacquiao with getting on his toes and trying to box as he did against Delahoya. As good as Pac looked in that fight, it was largely due to what was wrong with Oscar then what was right with Manny. Manny isn't a good technical boxer, he has speed but no defense like a Mayweather. One thing we know that can hurt Hatton is counter punching. Can Manny counter punch effectively against Hatton? I doubt it. And if he tries to just come forward and bully Ricky, can you seriously say that he can do any better then a Kostya Tszyu, who is a MUCH bigger puncher then Pacquiao and a overall stronger jr.welterweight. So he can't outbox him to a 12 round decision because he lacks the technical boxing skills and defense/discipline. He can't hurt Pacman by being the stronger, more powerful puncher because he isn't (Kostya Tszyu, a bigger puncher couldn't do it) and he can't counter punch the way Floyd did and knock him out. What does that leave him with?

Why are Arum and Roach trying to devalue the megafight?

Ricky Hatton is NOT a good boxer. he is yet another overhyped englishman. the difference is the english NOT the british I mean just england always hype their people through the media journeymen like bruno, joe bugner, henry cooper, hatton, prince naseem, amir khan etc etc all get world title shots but they are not world class. But a legend like calzaghe gets NO upport because he is from Wales (the smallest country in UK) the fact is these drunks following hatton couldnt care less about him they know NOTHING about boxing. the same 20,000 will be following the football team lose next. then the next bruno as for hatton having a great personality? does he. all Ive seen is a bunch of tattoos, the neck cut for floyd, the absurd drinking between fights where he puts on 3 stones (42 pounds = 18kg) he has gained and lost 60 stones in the last 10 years? this somehow makes him popular with the english drunks. not england has the highest drink per person than any nation in the world. he has been idiotic to his body and the drink has damaged his health and probably his mental ability to grow as a boxer the way manny has calzaghe on the other hand had to wait 12 years to get to america because the english media ignored him and america hadnt heard of him. it is 100% the fault of the biased racist english media FACT. calzaghe is the best british boxer ever. certainly post war maybe jimmy wilde alongside. another welsh legend. the welsh are hard people from mountainous regions of indutrial britain. howard winstone was again similar class boxer its tragic you americans only got to see the great calzaghe so late in his career. please trust me he was a beautiful boxer. a master of space and timing, a genius. there were moments in his fights where he was conducting an orchestra. Ive no doubt fighters that take years to get their recognition can easily slip into bad ways or careless or sloppy in any area, food, drink, defence, head movement etc but somehow calzaghe stayed clean. he didnt suck up to jo public by getting drunk and endless I love britain tattoos. so it ends as it always would. the welshmen is the best. he gets respect, keeps his old friends and family in little newbridge village, makes a few millions and starts a bunch of family businesses and promotions the overhyped englishman makes more money he'll be knighted before calzaghe of course. he'll give 100001 interviews all over UK for the next 50 years and he'll be a hero to the losers. meanwhile calzaghe will be a mysteriously low key legend probably give about 1 proper interview every other year. except in america. america is the leveller. america sees through all the BS eventually. the likes of bert sugar know boxing inside and out. they know class and they know overhyped nonsense. so maybe calzaghe will do a lennox and work stateside too where he will be treated with the warmth and respect he deserves by the way as for manny saying his prayers. fantastic. Id rather have God in my corner than 20,000 drunken englishmen

Or it's possible Pug may have had a few too many when he met the ladies [he's been know to tip a few]. Actually, the two old ladie asked Pug if they could put the PC in a Manila envelope and ship it to their cousin Philip Pine who likes to play baseball games on the computer. -- "Who knows what evil lurks in hearts of men" ~ The Shadow

At low tide, I've heard that there are more than 15,000 islands. It's quite possible that those two ladies were not really from the city of Manila, but from one of those disappearing islands...

congrats pacman. Being cocky will do u no good. that;s what had happened to hatton. Hatton relies on his skills and experiences but Manny relies not only to himself but most of all from God. Manny always pray b4 he fights still some people cant understand that prayer is the best weapon. If Mayweather fights manny next well we will know what will happen

Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines was chosen as one of TIME's 2009 World's 100 Most Influential People "Pound for pound, Manny Pacquiao is the best boxer in the world. But even more important than holding that distinction, Manny has connected with the people of his home country, the Philippines, to the point where he's almost like a god. The people have rallied behind him and feel like they're a part of him, because they can see his talent, his dedication, his grace and his class." --Lennox Lewis, former world heavyweight champion & boxing commentator for HBO Sports http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1894410_1894289_1894356,00.html -- Edited by terriblejoe at 05/03/2009 11:53 PM PDT

I didnt see Hatton use a single shoulder roll. Gun, I didn't see him do anything they worked on!!!! I'm not shocked Hatton lost but I did give him more credit than a second round stoppage. All the talking Mayweather Sr. did about how Hatton was going to keep his head moving and use his foot speed and all that...HA!! He didn't do none of it!!!! You can't stand in front of a truck and plan to live and tell about it!!!! http://fist2face.wordpress.com/2009/05/03/manny-pacquio-vs-ricky-hatton -- If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.
