Jones Beat Hopkins in his prime. Hopkins only had the great career he had because Jones couldn't stay at that weight. You can't compare Jones and Hopkins because Hopkins hasn't been hit with a big punch ever in his life. Not to mention he's a Gym rat that stays in shape for his even in his old age. He never gained over 25 pounds to win a belt at Heavyweight and then gone back down and got Viciously KO'd twice....that didn't happen to him so he's fine. JC is a tough cookie and I think he's tough enough to lose a decision again Prime Roy Jones Jr. The only fight you ever payed attention with Jones was against Tito Their was once a time when Jones was did kill people....Y'all must have forgot....lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp3rSIiTBZQ -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

But the American fight fan can be very > bitter towards non American boxers. Sometimes styles make fights & so Woods beating Johnson does not really mean Calzaghe will beat him(who style was causing Dawson trouble in their fight). Johnson pressure fighting style could give Calzaghe fits even tho he does not have Calzaghe,s hand speed but he will have to walk down Calzaghe as Jones was able to do in the early rds jones,s problem was he never got any combos off. -- Edited by KOking2006 at 11/10/2008 7:49 AM PST

He has never had the killer instinct and never KO people he should have KO even if they were hurt. Sio, no, even in RJJ's prime JC gets up and continues to fight. And Hopkins is proof that age is not an excuse when you fight a guy that recently came up in weight. Hopkins being the true warrior and great fighter he is can beat fighters in the lower weight, even if they are in their prime, like pavlik, even at 44. -- I came I saw and I conquered

the Carolina Panthers are doing pretty good this year. 6-2 record. They got slaughtered by Tampa Bay though and they are in the same division. -- Take Back our Country - Vote for Obama 2008

Titans are looking good so far but they will lose soon enough and they won't make the Super bowl....sorry. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

I surely hope all ya'll who ordered the PPV enjoyed the fight. Unfortuantely for me, in the Bush era my money isn't plentyful enough to buy fights were there is an extremely predictable outcome. I got to get some beauty rest. My Titans are going for 9-0 in about 11 hours and I don't want to be falling asleep on that. Holla.

Yeah. I don't see how he buys his own crap at 175. How? Can he not see the wrinkles? He has to beat just 1 young guy. Dawson is a beatable guy right...? Well lets see it then. Dawson got decked by a young lion and taken to task by an old journeyman. He's easily beatable. Here's a chance for Joe to be the LHW king. Should be easy enough. What are you waiting for Joe?

Calzaghe may be good in his own right just like Holmes managed to become good in his own right but never could fill Ali's shoes. And just like Holmes win over Ali, this win does nothing for Joe. RJJ was a dominant LHW but I don't think his move up to HW and beating up on Ruiz earns him any special consideration. Cal moving up to LHW and beating up on some old guys don't get it done either. Let's see what he can do besides talk about his greatness.

I'm a little pissed at Tanalyst actually. I was out drinking a few beers, shooting some pool. He said a couple days ago that I would come back on here having regrets that I didn't buy this fight cuz it was gonna be like Casa-JMM. It got me to thinking I should come home and check it out. As it turns out I missed out on the party, justintv fucked up the fight and Jones got waxed in a fight that wasn't even close. Thanx Bro.

Michelcezki.....who? I criticize everyone rather I like them or not. At times I asked more from Jones but he usually delivered eventually. However nobody wanted it at 175 that was worth the trouble. Lets not forget that Jones could have retire after he beat Ruiz. I still think that Great move led to his downfall however Calzaghe would never be Jones. Holmes never was Ali....these things just happen in the boxing world sometimes. Calzaghe may be good in his own right just like Holmes managed to become good in his own right but never could fill Ali's shoes. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

I agree with Hate to an extent but Boxing is more of a global sport and Overseas they don't care bout primes they care about the win. So Calzaghe will be more like Rocky Marciano over their. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide
