Well no one is talking about this fight at all. I guess it's because Juarez has been such a boring fighter just plodding forward and not coming on until the late rounds. However I think he is still a good fighter and had close, close fights against MAB, I thought he could have won the first fight. Barrios looks to have lost everytime he has stepped it up but will probably still be a tough opponent for Juarez who I believe was best at featherweight. Who do you guys have in this fight and will anyone be watching? -- Who's Margarito? - FMJ

Or he might be another Darch. Too soon to tell I agree. I really don't see anything special. Time will tell.

Its hard to say how Valero will do until we finally get him in there with someone we are familiar with. He is a windmill and if his power is true, he might just end up being the 1st to KO Rocky.

Actually I could see Juarez get a late round stoppage over Valero as well. I don't see much to him other than his power.

Nice perspective Gun. I don't disagree. Tell me what are your thoughts on Juarez vs Guerrero? -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

Most of the top name fighters at 130 have moved out of the division. I wonder if we'll see a Juarez/Valero matchup. Juarez got a nice KO in Houston, and Valero is licenced in Texas. I'd like to see it. I wouldnt mind seeing Guerrero in the mix too. Guerrero definitely. Valero is virtually untested. Rocky gets a bad rap for losing to some pretty solid fighters. He can hold his own though. I think that will be shown more than ever when he fights Valero. If he's been reinvigorated even the slightest coming off his last win against Barrios it will be a tough night for Valero. No one KO's Rocky. Valero isn't used to going the distance and Juarez will be the most experienced guy he's ever fought. Right now I actually give Juarez the edge and would not be surprised to see another late TKO. -- Edited by GunRunner2 at 09/14/2008 10:04 PM PDT

Valero and Juarez would be a fight I'd like to see too. I don't think Valero would ko Rocky though. He'll just outwork him for the first dec. of his career.

I feel sorry for Barrios man. He was winning that fight big and got robbed by a cut. The crappy thing is he would have been robbed if it would have went the distance too. I hope he doesn't retire. I think he is pretty entertaining. Barrios gets busted up too easy. He got beat by Freitas the same way. The kid's got a ton of heart but to win a fight against a superior tactician.

lol! the turning point was when Barrios started opening up with wide punches. I he left his whole face and body exposed. I was like "What the hell are you thinking!" -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

I was telling my wife at the beginning of rd 10 that Barrios had the fight and he just needed to slow down and pick at Juarez. The next minute the fight was over.

I think he made a mistake by completely gassing himself in the 10th. I would have been consistent and waited for Juarez to go for the knockout in the 12th and try to catch him with a big shot. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

That can happen. Speaking of Barrios and Juarez what is going on with them? Is Barrios retiring? I would if I had a lip like that. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide
