This is too much for me to let slip by. In a forum, the comment that Lewis easily beats any HW is history except for Ali was made. It shocked the stuffing out of me. WHat do the rest of you guys think? I felt we needed a forum for this one. Lewis beating the shit out of Holmes ? Forman ? Liston ? Frazier ? How does he match up with Vitali ? Wlad ? Holyfield ? Mercer ? 45 year old Foreman ?

anyone who dont agree with me is obviously crazy. you guys know wink is the lighter skinned guy, right? if you're color blind or watching in black and white, wink is the southpaw who's landing all the clean shots. you know, it's amazing that even 3 of us here agree that these fights are close. so who won the first pac-jmm fight?

Wink did not beat Taylor. Yes he held his hands up and played "defense", but A LOT of Taylor's shots split the guard and JT got nowhere near the credit he earned for those guard-splitting shots.
It was a good, competitive fight, but even a draw was a gift for Wink.

I had Mercer 96-94 as well. I watched the fight again too looking for a round that could have been given to lewis that I scored for mercer. Maybe round 4 if you are looking to give Lennox a round. he was clearly beaten. I had problems with Mercer not getting a shot at the WBC belt after it was given to lewis.

One judge did score it even, and that is the best that Mercer did on the scorecards. The other judges had it for Lewis by 1 point and 2 points.
judge: George Colon 96-94
judge: Luis Rivera 96-95
judge: Melvina Lathan 95-95

I'm a Lewis fan. But I scored the rounds as I saw 'em. I guess the two judges that scored it the same way are obviously "Lewis fans" as well.

I didn't see the fight live becase I was in Florida at the time (beach KO1 television) but I watched it on tape twice and scored it for Taylor by a point or so.
And that was after telling anyone that would listen that Winky was going to take Taylor to school.
