Margarito has pulled the plug on this fight for unknown reasons. GBP's Schaeffer has branded him "chicken". Personally, I think the truth will come out soon enough but let's speculate what the reason could be. Obviously, money is a possibility, that is a no-brainer. But looking deeper, I think Margarito is unhappy with Bob Arum for not getting him a Williams re-match. Arum has stated he will do no business at all with PW and helped arrange the double-header of Mosley and Cotto. But my guess is that Margarito is so annoyed that he has drawn the line in the sand now and told Arum, "You not what Bobby Boy, I don't care what you think, I am from Tijuana and I want to fight PW, I don't care about you or GBP's "risk/reward" philosophy, I want to avenge that loss and I'm not putting up with any of your shit anymore pendeco !! " I hope I'm right and a Margarito/Williams fight is looking more likely now ........

My man, watch that fight again, Cotto was slugging it out with him waayyyyy to much, but thats okay, cause thats Cottos natural style of fighting, just with a beast like Margarito he has to box a little bit more, and yes your right either way he cant keep margarito off of him.

Cotto did not slug it out with Margarito. He just isn't a good enough boxer to keep Margarito off of him the whole time.

Margarito is like a smaller version of the younger George Foreman....the one that fought Ali in '74. Great slugger, with some basic boxing knowledge, and ability, but a putz when it comes to being a "smart" fighter. You're absolutely right, Carlos, he takes a good punch, and keeps coming right at you.....the same damn way he always does. Those stupid enough to stand in front of him, and slug it out, (Norton-Foreman....Frazier-Foreman, and a shitload of others) find themselves in there dressing room with no clue how, or when they got there ! Those who choose a smart fight, using their abilities, and talent to box the shit out of them , (Paul Williams, and Ali with Foreman) will expose them as being nothing but good punchers, and that's all !

If > Margarito isn't that good of a boxer than what does > that tell you about Cotto, losing to a man that > doesn't know how to box. Feel me? Margarito just takes to good of a dam punch, hes a horrible boxer, i even watched his fight against clottey last nite on versus, and clottey was taking it to him, before he hurt both his hands, margarito's best defense is letting you hit him, so he can hit you back. dont matter how many years he has been boxing, thats doesnt make him a good boxer at all. watch mosley beat margarito easy because he wont make the same mistakes cotto did, like slug it out and stay on the ropes and not hold on the inside, not going to the body, etc, etc. i aint hating on margarito, hes a hell of a fighter, but his boxing skills are suspect and he can take a hell of a punch, im a big cotto fan, and i honestly dont even know why cotto is wanting a rematch, but maybe in his heart he feels he can beat margarito, i mean i had cotto up in the fight until the stoppage, so who knows. margarito is a beast, man, trust me i aint hating.

If > Margarito isn't that good of a boxer than what does > that tell you about Cotto, losing to a man that > doesn't know how to box. Feel me? I have a question. If my 13 year old Nephew(a Junior Red Belt in Taekwondo) fought you in being about 5'1 do you think you would beat him. Assuming you beat him easily would that make you better or just Bigger? Granted Size isn't the only thing involved you would also have to have that kind of durability. If you want to measure Cotto and Margarito's skills alone their really isn't much of a Contest. I'll put it this way spliff. If Margarito had Amir Khan's chin how would he have made it past the first 3 rounds?....Cotto is a better boxer then Margarito hands down. It just so happens that Cotto's skills are rather useless against Margarito's chin -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

And he looked less than stellar against Mayorga. But he got the KO at the last second and that's what people seem to remember. He got the KO tho. He didn't take the last round off. That's the Shane Mosley that won the hearts of fans. The one that fights 'til the end. -- Speed Kills

That fight definitely took alot outta of margarito, come on, it looked like he got stung by a bunch of bees, and everyone ewanna talk about how long it took cotto to come back and fight, look at margarito, its not like he fought again in 2008, he has about the same time off as cotto, with him fighting in the end of january and cotto fighting in the middle of the february. that fight definitely took something out of margarito, even if we dont see it right away in his next couple of fights.

We're about to find out. I thought Mayorga fought a good fight, better than I've seen him fight in yrs, and I feel the stlyle bother Mosley and he didn't perform at his optimal best. But I could be wrong. Margarito will definately be a challenge. Gluvs I did think about how much the Cotto fight might of took away from Margarito. I don't necessarily agree with jabs. I don't think Margarito is going to look any slower because of that fight, but Margarito took some shots in that fight, more so than Cotto. Margarito granite chin cam in handily. Cotto probably should of dug into the body more. That might of been the ultimate difference in that fight.

Well i hear what you all are saying, and i hope your wrong, i see it playing out similar to hopkins vs pavlik, hopkins looked a little bad, like going to the wrong corners several times against calzaghe, and everybody thought pavlik was going to knock him out, but he did it to pavlik, i think mosley has a chance to pull off the upset, margarito is not that great of a boxer, lets be for real, he just takes a hell of a punch.>>> Mosley well the full 12 with the likes of David Estrada and Jose Luis Cruz before the Vargas fights. And Mosley was getting tagged by Vargas' right hand repeatedly in their first fight. People were saying that Mosley had found the fountain of youth when he beat Collazo. I truly didn't see that. I went to the Mosley/Cotto fight hoping to see Mosley turn back the clock and deliver a vintage performance. But he came up short. And he looked less than stellar against Mayorga. But he got the KO at the last second and that's what people seem to remember.

Yup, I was pulling like crazy for him in that fight. Hell I even have a program in the house of that bout b/c I thought it would end up like Margarito/Cotto did. I was a few fights off. The main reason Mosley won't win, is b/c he simple throws one or two punches at a time. Like Jones, he can't throw combinations anymore. -- "The next time you see Joan Guzman ? well, never mind. Watching it again...I think Marg took less punishment than I initially thought. I think that fight took very little, if anything, out of AM.

This could be a very good fight, but this might be the Mosley's last hoorah as a serious contender.>>> IMO, his fight against Cotto was his last hurrah. I wasn't at all impressed with his performance against Mayorga. And this is coming from a longtime Mosley fan.
