Actually bro, I've been talking about Mayweather-Pacquaio for nearly a decade now. And when I brought the idea up on here shortly after I joined the forum, I was hammered for it. Funny how sh*t has worked out huh? And I have always said, Pac has the best chance of any of the fighters out there to beat Mayweather. And I still feel that way, with the exception that I would pick Paul Williams to beat Money now. But, I said all that without ever seeing Mayweather fight a smaller opponent. Mayweather did little suttle things against Marquez to use his size that he would be able to use against Pac that will make it very hard for Pac to get off effectively. I still think Pac can beat him. But, if he doesn't get him within 4 rounds or so, he's toast.

I would have never conceived this fight in my mind 4 or 5 yrs ago. But Pacquiao has turned out to be a one of a kind fighter, after saturdays performance, he won me over completely. I thought Cotto would pull of the win by outboxing and manhandling Pacquaio, but it turned out to be the opposite.

I guess people kinda forgot that Floyd shutout Marquez... shut him out..... 12 rounds to zero.... a guy that possibly BEAT Pacquiao twice!!
Manny aint beating Floyd... and i dont even like floyd that much!!! Floyds defense is ridiculous... however if manny is able to atleast touch and hurt floyd then you might have a great fight... but i still like floyd.

Maybe. But none of that has a damn thing to do with a head-to-head matchup. You're talking about a beauty contest, I'm talking about a boxing match

It takes a special kind of fighter to beat Floyd, and I think Manny is that fighter to do it. Hit and Gluvs you guys might disagree with me, and you guys make valid statements to support your claims. Other than the boxing skills and reach advantage, I still say Manny has a good chance to beat Floyd.

That's one of the reasons why majority of boxing fans favor Manny than Mayrunner. Pacman is not afraid to get hit in order to enforce his combination shots while the Runner loves to run and dance all around the 20 x 20 ring in order to not get hit.

I'll admit, I was in total disbelief at how easily the slow handed Cotto was basically able to land at will when he decided to throw. Hell, he even managed to rupture Pac's eardrum. I seriously doubt landing will be a problem for Mayweather, especially with his straight righthand. Pac better hope like hell Money isn't able to neutralize his O, not even slightly. Because if Pac can't completely overwhelm Mayweather, this one might get ugly quickly.

Agreed.

Floyd will be able to put on a full display of his prowess, with that kind of reach. No need to potshot really....he'd be able to excercise that jab (like he did against Marquez) and with the height advantage, show us one helluva a lashin...er....show. :-D

That 5 inch reach advantage for Mayweather is huge against Pacquiao. Given that he's a great defensive fighter and much quicker than Marquez could ever dream of being.

Exactly...

Pacqiao throws punches in bunches and with too much velocity, for Mayweather to try and counter inbetween Manny throwing.

He'll have to get off first and disrupt whatever rhythm Pacqiao has.

mayweather figured out fast lefty fighter judah after about six rounds...if roach and manny comes up with a first half gameplan and second half gameplan then mayweather is going down...it might not even take 2 gameplans to beat floyd cause if it took 6 rounds to slove judah it will take at least 8 to figure out manny and by then he'll be to far behind on points to win a decision...i hope it works out this way cause i would love to see mayweather go on the attack in a desperation type of mode...it would be nice to see him finally let his fists fly in an all out offensive attack against a beast for once inhis career...either way i still think manny takes him out

Floyd will do everything JMM did, and with an added 5 inch reach advantage.

Mayweather says he doesn't watch tapes of fighters, but I've always thought that was horsesh*t. And if he doesn't it would be a mistake against Pac. Because the blueprint has been laid on how to beat him. And something I saw in the Cotto fight worried me about Pac's chance against Mayweather and that's how easily Cotto controlled Pac when he chose to jab. Mayweather used the jab more against the shorter Marquez, and I would think he would do the same with Pac. That probably will be the key to a winning gameplan for Money May.

I think Floyd needs to execute Marquez' game plan of beating Manny to the punch.

But based on fight against Cotto, I believe Manny can handle Floyd's shot but according to Roach they have a prepared gameplan.
