The only thing I can get a little upset at is that Floyd is taking a tune up where he isn't really in harm's way as a PPV. At least it's a good card.

A lot of times, I wish that he and his people had found a way to get his comeback fight on regular HBO though. Something against a less sexier opponent like Delvin Rodriguez or Jesus Karass, but something that would have given him relatively similar work and been a regular TV fight.

But maybe that's just me.

908, I think you make a fair and valid point about how most fans have basically turned a blind eye to Mosley's steroid use. And I'll admit, I'm one who basically doesn't hold it against him. But the reason I don't, is because I don't consider him a an all-time great in a P4P sense. Personally, I feel that his roid use started when he jumped from lightweight to welterweight and eventually to 154. And to be perfectly honest with you, since making the jump, his career hasn't been abything to write home about. If you look at his post lightweight career, he's basically only beaten de la Hoya (twice) and recently Margarito. IMO, if de la Hoya wasn't the megastar he was. Shane Mosley would have been irrelevant a long time ago.

We shall see what happens, very shortly.

So far, I am 2 out of 2 against you in fights in which you predict a left-hook KO of Floyd. Care to make a wager....care to make it 3 for 3?

You never gave Manny much of a chance against Oscar for the same reason ~ which in this case, also . . . . . . Doesn't apply.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Juan Manuel Marquez had gone a long way from the guy who got scared for a rematch against Pacman after the 3 knock-downs in the first round and went into hiding in Indonesia, but in the process, he lost his title when he got beat-up by Chris John.
Anyway, regardless of the outcome of their respective upcoming fights, Pacman will not go into retirement without putting a closure with a trilogy Pacman vs. Marquez III... :O ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I realize that you are always trying to belittle JMM skills in order for you to feel better if / when Floyd beats him saying he wasn't that great... As you mentioned, he got up from THREE pretty devastating knockdowns to pull out a DRAW?????? WOW!!!! That would be a 10 - 7 or worse a 10 - 6 round... He dug himself out of a four round hole by laying a BEATING on Manny...!!!
The truth will be revealed eventually though...
I have never given JMM much of a chance. As excellent as he is, he is simply too small for Floyd, and it's a horrendous style matchup for him. He's a counterpuncher who needs several rounds to get his stuff woring against AGGRESSIVE guys.....how the hell is he gonna be effective against the slickest of them all?
People are using this weird triangle-ish theory........"if you are actually looking forward to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao....then why are you dismissing JMM's chances against Floyd. Didn't JMM twice almost beat Pacquiao?". Doesn't apply.
Yea that was kinda sad seeing that guy try to imitate Floyd...... sad how this guy is freaking drinking his own piss for the freaking nutrients and vitamins... what a joke. I think it might be a interesting fight... but no way in the world do i see marquez beating floyd.
Re: The topic of this actual thread.
Just watched Mayweather / Marquez 24-7, while at work....
ROFLMAO @ The dude they got, "Imitating" Floyd's style.
My god....
Marquez's slaughter is looking more and more imminent, with each passing week.
Floyd looks sharp and ready.....I honestly believe that this new re-invigorated Mayweather, will be twice as dangerous as the one that faced Hatton or DeLahoya.
Yeah - No amount of drinking his own piss (WTF!?) is gonna save him from this one........He's catching a beat down.
mr908....
I think most people who have followed boxing for a long time do not believe steroids help a boxer.
I seriously doubt Shane Mosley, who was an amateur star at 140lbs....roided in his 135lb days.
Makes little sense.
