Part of being a great fighter is not fighting the wrong fight. How many times have we seen Mayweather fight the wrong fight. This isn't baseball were you get to play about 1,000 games and you can afford to f*ck up a couple times. At the highest level, fighters only have two or three times a year to do their thing. Part of being great is showing up when the lights come on. Wrong fight, wrong strategy, plaster wraps, whatever. He lost to a cat that a great fighter shouldn't lose to.

I'll give you Casamayor, because IMO he lost to Cruz before Marqurz got to him. But Barerra being past his prime, hell no. Barerra hadn't lost a fight since losing to Pacquaio coming into the Marquez fight. As for Malignaggi, he got stopped by Hatton. Most people say Hatton is a bum. So how did a guy he stopped become such a great decision win for Cotto? As for no one being better than the version of Mosley Cotto fought, you got to be sh*ttin' me. You giving him props for beating Collazo. Collazo also lost to Hatton. The fact is, if Marquez and Cotto never fought again, Marquez would go down in history as the better fighter. Casa got a gift decision against Cruz, and it was obvious that Casa was passed his prime........ we agree on that. I noticed your not mentioning Juan Diaz as JMM's notable wins. I used Malignaggi as a comparison to JMM's win over Juan Diaz........ I could have used Quintana who holds a win over Williams too. As for MAB, I can give you that; only if you can give Cotto credit for his win over Mosley. BTW, Hatton didn't get to where he was by fluke.......... you can't be calling Hatton a bum; he simply was over-rated by many....... Say what you want about Collazo; but I had him winning agianst Hatton and drawing with Berto at worse........... so what you saying about Berto then? Mosley beat Collazo decisively and easily; then went on to KO the man that wasn't suppose to be KO'd by ANYONE. Make your points on how Marquez is an A class fighter and Cotto isn't based on their resume's? -- Edited by CSiX at 09/23/2009 12:23 PM PDT

I know Juan DIaz wants Marquez again but I feel Marquez would still beat him I wouldnt be surprised if Marquez knocked him out again. I ve been a fan of Juan Diaz but he has shown himself to be too one dimensional and those type of fighters always meet their maker.

And I'll say for the 1Mth time. Judah hadn't won a fight uin the previous 2.5 years. Mosley entered that fight 7-4 with a NC in his previous 12. And Clottey's best wins were against an even more washed up Judah and a shot Chico. Cotto's talent, and his resume are very overrated. As for him being the #1 welter, you'll get no arguement from me on that one. Juan Diaz lost to Paulie IMO, and Cotto handed Paulie his first 0. MAB was passed his prime, and Casa (passed his prime) looked like he was on his way out 2 fights prior to fighting JMM........... Mosley beat Collazo decisvely, and KO'd Margarito after........ and he's better than anyone JMM has beaten. It's easy for me to $hit on JMM's victories too; but I won't.......... I'm just saying, if your going be calling JMM an A class fighter, AND Mosley; but saying Cotto isn't, that doesn't make sense to me............. unless you can prove some good points as to why Cotto isn't.

Great fighters don't lose to Margarito. Great fighters don't struggle with Clottey. And great welterweights are picked to be KO'd by a former flyweight.

Shit i think Mosley should be > asking Cotto for a rematch. Or maybe he should just fight someone. And he's got some nerve claiming someone is ducking him. With his my tooth hurts and Money should fight Margarito, Paul Williams is too big, even though he makes the 147 lb limit, and I want to fight guys my own size ass.

Na CSix you gotta understand Hitking... he doesnt think Cotto sucks or anything like that.... he prbably will agree that Cotto is the #1 Welterweight... he just thinks that some people (me included) overrate him a little bit... and maybe we do... maybe we dont. Shit i think Mosley should be asking Cotto for a rematch.

JMM holds win over MAB, Juan Diaz, Casamayor. Cotto holds win over Judah, Mosley, Clottey, and handed many decent fighters their first 0............ his only loss has been to Margarito; and because of that, he's not an A class fighter anymore? Styles make fights. IMO, Cotto has the better resume over JMM........... so to say JMM is an A class fighter and not Cotto, doesn't sound right to me. BTW, Cotto is the no.1 welterweight RIGHT NOW, unless you wanna dispute that too?

And his resume would be even better if Hamed hadn't ducked him, and Morales would have manned up and fought him.
