This is beside the point.
Pavlik is fighting a BETTER, more difficult opponent than Allan Green or Paul Williams would have been and you are STILL finding reason to complain.
Maybe it won't be aesthetically pleasing. But that it is a good and significant matchup, moreso than Green or Williams would have been CANNOT BE DENIED.

I never said that. I want Pavlik to fight Abraham, Sturm and Wright and move up. But the bout against Hopkins is more significant and more intriguing than bouts with Williams or Green would have been.

Luke Pascal was going to fight for Joe C's WBO SMW belt, then Joe C decided not to give it up, so now Pascal is saying he's going on a different direction.
I think Abraham stole Pascal's thunder, I expected him to be the one to give Miranda the trashing.
Speaking of SMW's if Mendoza lands one good shot against Lacy tomorrow night, it could be the end of Lacy as a serious opponent.

Gluvs the thing is you're right. Bhop will make for a horrible fight, but a fight he could actually win. Holding, clinching, ugly fights, are not watchable, but that's how he wins, that's how Ricky Hatton wins and that's how John Ruiz has managed to stay around.
Green would make for a more entertaining fight, but I woudln't expect him to win.
Bhop might just win, b/c all of that grabing and mauling would be something Pav hadn't seen.
Either way, I'm not buying the damn PPV, afterwards Arum will blame Bush for the poor PPV sales.

I'm doing my damnedest to see something that would coincide w/ your perception body - I just don't man.
At least Green would make a solid attempt at taking Pavlik's head off....as opposed to 43 year old Hopkins clinching and just holding on for DEAR LIFE.
I dont know man....
I'm hoping you're right and Hopkins at least makes the bout interesting / competitive - But if history is any indicator (and she usually is) , It's just wishful thinking.
And another SHITTY Performance by Hopkins....

This is totally off subject but what happened to Jean PAscal. Last I saw him, him and Miranda was on a ESPN card. Miranda was talking smack to him and PAscal was ready to fight then.
Well that match never got made and Miranda got his but whooped by Abraham. I don't know if PAscal would be ready for a fight with Pavlik but maybe get a couple fights under his belt maybe.

It's a bit ironic b/c this reminds me a bit of Fudo's comments on Lockett vs Spinks as an opponent.
Trust me, nobody hates Bhop more than I do, but even at 43 he's a better opponent than Greene, who's strategy for winning would involve looking at his feet every 30 seconds.

We posted a bunch of Greene's responses to Pavlik/Hopkins and allegations that he turned the bout down...Looks like quite a bitof noise to me.

I would hardly say Green is the Future. Look at guys like Linares, Gamboa, Berto, even Williams and say they're the future, that's fine, but Green is the future like Julio Diaz was the future of the lightweight division.
In other words, he's nothing to get too excited about.

Green will make for a more entertaining bout. He's young and would be fighting the bigest fight in his life.
Hopkins will make Pavlik look bad most likely but his offensive output would be minimal. He's old and you see it now. Some people thought he won the Calzaghe fight. I thought he lost. I didn't think Calzaghe did jack in that fight but you can't expect to win a fight when the other fighter is out working you. Thats what happened in both Jermain Taylor fights.
