I've heard of Who's Bad, glad to hear it was a good show. I love House of Blues, used to go there a lot when I lived in Orlando.

Both sound like a good time.

I ended up seeing two different shows last night.

First up was Who's Bad at House of Blues. They're from Chapel Hill, NC and are billed as the "ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute". They've been at it for 7 years and they really had their act down pat. Two different guys played Michael Jackson. The mix of the crowd was literally all over the place! Young people, old people, hipsters, yuppies, etc. Good show.

After that show, me and my date shot over to a different venue and checked out the amazing (and chaotic) Japanese noise-pop-punk meisters Melt Banana!

And as usual, they put on a GREAT show!

Levon Helm is still making albums. Got a couple of his newer CD's in my collection. Rick Danko is dead. Robbie Robertson is still kicking it up somewhere. Not sure whats up with the other two.

Saw hip-hop legend Rakim in concert last night.

It was a decent show, although a tad dull compared to the recent Snoop Dogg show that I saw.

Tonight I'm seeing Baroness with support from Earthless and US Christmas.

A little off the beaten path, but I was very saddened to hear that Andrew Lloyd Webber has been hospitalized due to infection after his cancer surgery last month. He has provided me with literally a lifetime of memories enjoying not just his productions but his music as well. I have seen Phantom live a dozen times and while I was very excited about the possibility of a sequel, set to begin running in March 2010 - I hope he puts his health first!

Somewhat. Never really got into them. They were kind of what I'd label as "easy listening" for the alternative set. A few nice songs, but a bit dull, IMO.

RA the Rugged Man Boxing Freestyle (Yes the guy who grilled Floyd on Radio)

I thought it was nice, a all out boxing related rap song.

.....well...between the cure and 311...its no contest...the cure...>>>

Ever hear the Deftones cover of "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep"? Its stellar.

Deftones also does a fantastic cover of the Cocteau Twins', "Wax and Wane".

I didn't go to last night's show.

I went to see Shonen Knife in concert instead!

I've seen Skinny Puppy several times, but I've never seen Shonen Knife. So I took my lady last night for her birthday and we had a blast.
