NFL Transactions/Draft.......

Its never too early to talk about the REAL American pass time.

Any trades or cuts you would like to praise.....any you would like to bemoan?

Any Draft wishes?

I agree.

It was kinda cool to see how amped and happy the Saints fans were. They reminded me of the Pats fans that had endured years and years of abuse....and now get to see their team DOMINATE.

They must be considered the best team in football. They stomped the shit out of NE, and others. Meanwhile, the Colts are the shakiest looking undefeated team I've seen, and the Vikings have been beating on mediocrities.

Brees was on. I was surprised their defense did as well as they did with so many people out in the secondary. Very nice win.

Precisely. I've said a few times already...when you're playing Jacksonville and David Garrard looks like the second coming of Dan Marino...your own offense is the least of your problems.

The Titans D flat out SUCKED in those first few games.

I would say the Peterson is still the league's best. But CJ has done it a couple times in recent weeks with the homerun. He didn't have the big 40+ yard runs against the Texas, 49ers, or Bills. He pretty much grinded out big yardage totals in those games without the homerun plays.

sk, VY is 23-11 as an NFL starter. This guy has started 2+ seasons worth of games and he's won nearly 70% of them. I think he was like 30-2 as a starter in college. I believe he only lost like 4 games in HS. This cat wins games. And the notion of his critics is that the Titans have won a lot of games in spite of him, but that's not the case. He took over an 0-5 team , that had won 9 games combined in the previous two seasons, his rookie season and got 8 wins. He took over an 0-6 team this year and has gotten 5 wins. This guy is a winner. He's a good enough passer, and his intangibles are off the chart. IMO, there's no reason not to have that guy on the field if he's on your roster and you don't have someone like Peyton, Brees, or Brady ahead of him.

Chris Johnson is the league's best homerun threat. In 2009, I'd argue Maurice Jones-Drew is the best back ...

i see your point - though ...

6 games 198 points allowed = 33 per game
since the bye
5 games 91 points = 18.2 per game

Offense since the bye = 145 points -= 29 per game

The offense improvement is striking ... but wouldn't have made a lick of difference if the defense did not start putting forth effort.

And the 4 wins before he went out with the injury/depression ... they averaged 17.2 ppg - their offense wasn't pulling the weight for 55 minutes a game.

Let's put it this way - the move to VY was the only card to play - but if VY had given any indication he could lead an explosive offense (a 29 ppg offense is indeed explosive, sample size caveats of course), the switch would have been made earlier. Right now - for now - like the Patriots putting in a random backup in Game 2 of 2001 - the Titans are getting lucky.

I thought a pretty awsome stat I heard on Mike and Mike this morning was that Chris Johnson has more 85+ yard TD runs this season than any other player in league history has in their careers. Adrian Peterson is a great back. But its getting hard at this point not to call CJ the best back in the league.

Its called putting your playmakers on the field sk. With Collins, the Titans had one guy that could put the ball in the endzone. With VY, they have two.
