Manny Pacquiao, to me, is the most exciting fighter since Mike Tyson. He always comes to fight, and he plans on winning. The only reason you wouldn't want to buy a Pacquiao PPV is fear of it being over too soon. Pac Man has a much "nicer" demeanor (at least outside of the ring), and does seem to have a "better" group of people around him. But, like Mike, the better he does, the more "they" put on his plate. There are promoters, assistants, and "advisors" out there that would tell Pacquiao to fight Iron Mike if they thought they'd make a buck off it. I know that 24/7 turns up the drama whenever they can, that's why we watch it. But, there's no faking the distractions Pac Man's got in his life right now. His country is in shambles from a series of typhoons, he's got more money than he's ever had, and he seemingly gets better with every fight. Problem is, he's human. And, he's got a bigger, stronger, boxer/puncher meeting him in the ring on fight night. Did I mention tough as nails? Cotto took more punishment in the Margarito fight than I've ever seen Pac Man take, and more than likely Margarito had loaded gloves! Yea, I know Manny's been in some serious wars, but he's never been hit by a man as big as Margarito. I'm not questioning Pac Man's heart at all, I'm questioning his size. After watching the Mayweather/Marquez shutout, I realized that these "super fights" should probably stay in the video games. Mayweather looked suprisingly bigger than Marquez, and I think weight did play a part in the fight being so one sided. De La Hoya lost so much weight to fight Pac Man that he looked sick and got destroyed! As far as the Hatton fight goes, Hatton was just completely overrated and outclassed. I don't think either of those fights tell us much about how Pacquiao will do against these bigger guys. The reason we have weight classes is because weight does make a difference. If they keep making fights with no regard for weight, we might as well be watching UFC #1. Pac Man is the best fighter in the world...at his weight! He's my favorite fighter...at his weight! I just don't wanna see another great fighter go downhill at what should be the climax of his career.

...."Child Please", I can't remember the last time i heard that one. I'm going to look over a win against Mosley...nah! I can bet my house on Cotto beating Hatton and Delahoya, even an aged Mosley still beats Delahoya (Again) and Hatton gets a worse pounding. IMO Pacquiao has the 140lb division on lock, the WW's are a whole different beast. -- Edited by rikyricardo79 at 11/08/2009 12:44 PM PST

Yeah, Cotto faced the great Shane Mosley that was 7-4 with a NC in his previous 12 fights, and was down one one card and up a point on another heading into the 12th against another "elite", Ricardo Mayorga. CHILD PLEASE.

"he's stepping up against an A class fighter and is outta his league." Simply ridiculous, Cotto faced Mosley for 12, an A class fighter (a natural bigger WW at that) Manny is moving up to Cotto's league The WW league. Major Props. A different ballgame though. Pacquiao has never faced a top primed high calibur WW before, period! Pacquiao is my guy, but Cotto has heat Manny hasn't felt before. On that night it will be evident, it's just a matter of how Manny will adjust, Cotto has already shown he can offset speed.

He is still very much capable of beating B and C class fighters. And as a B+ fighter, that's what he's supposed to do. But now, he's stepping up against an A class fighter and is outta his league. When Pac destroys him, it won't be becasue Cotto is washed up. It will simply be because Cotto isn't good enough to compete with elite fighters.

Now that I think back Dax, you must be right. Margarito was biding his time, waiting for the plaster to harden, taking massive shots from Cotto through the midway point of the fight and giving away rounds, because he feared his punches wouldn't be enough to hurt Cotto until the plaster hardened enough. After the seventh round, I'm sure Capetillo told Margarito, "Alright now Tony, the pads...they are hard enough to do the deed....go get him now....our plan can't fail!".

After watching the Mayweather/Marquez shutout, I realized that these "super fights" should probably stay in the video games. Mayweather looked suprisingly bigger than Marquez, and I think weight did play a part in the fight being so one sided It was a onesided fight because Floyd's reflexes, speed and accuracy was on point that night, what does that have to do with size? If he was smaller, then he would be potentially quicker. If his power was in play then i'd agree.

Nobody is going to say that Cotto was washed up if Manny puts it on him. Cotto, in enough opinions, has lost a bit of his overdrive, but he is by no means even approaching "washed up." He's probably got at least 3 or 4 big fights left in him before that term could even be remotely applicable. lol. Manny pac will look good until he gets cuaght. Cotto jab and body attack will end manny pac i have no doubt about that. Winky, quintana, zab all pick Cotto by tko. this will happen around 6rd my pick is Manny will get caught early and the fight will around 5rd.

It only common sense Cotto was killing magarito until magarito punches around 6rd started to make a huge diffrence like the guy had rocks in freaky gluvs. When plaster started to harden magarito punches started making the diffrence. After the fight does anyone remeber all the claims from diffrent peole that claimed Magarito Cheated... the next fight he was caught...
