Plenty of fights on tap. Forrest VS Mora - Mora gets exposed in this one.....unless Forrest has another night like against Quartey. Forrest TKO10. Williams VS Quintana II - Williams UD12. I will be rooting like hell for Quintana though. But I figure Williams has learned from his mistakes and eakes out a close but unanimous decision. Pavlik VS Lockett - Just can't see Lockett faring better than Jermain Taylor in the first encounter. Pavlik is the best fighter Lockett has ever faced, Lockett is maybe the 5th best fighter Pavlik has ever faced. Pavlik KO5. Lopez VS Ponce DeLeon - Was Gerry Penalosa that tough or did he expose DeLeon's power? Decent boxers usually go the distance with DeLeon. Lopez can punch a bit, will he be able to get DeLeon's respect? I think no. DeLeon UD12. -- HBO, LETS SEE THE ROUND CARD GIRLS AGAIN!!!! Obama 2008

Dax is now claiming he's some great fighter after he never really seen him. Oh but he's Puerto Rican so it's ok I guess. lol

When you start talking about a mexican > prospect I'll pay attention. that's true. I remember back then I started talking about JMM. I said that I had read that this kid was a monster at 122. Dax then mentioned that he heard of him to and didn't have a clue what his name was, he said that they called him El Pollo or something crazy like that. Anyway, he knew as much as I knew about him, which is very little. Yet if he becomes a star I'm assuming you'll hear about how he always told you so. -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."

He says he is going to go back up to > middleweight and vacate the 154. He's a moron! It's one thing to fight a guy who you are younger than, faster than and have the weight advantage over. It's a different thing to go up to middleweight and fight guys like Pav and Abraham who are big hitters, in their prime, and frankly on a different level. -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."

I actually didn't watch the second half of the fight as closely as I'd like. My wife was complaining about how hot it was so I ended up bringing down the other air conditioner. I watched about the first 6 rounds and Mora seemed as if he was turning the tide. I was surprised that he won. I was a fan of contender. Mora isn't one of my fav fighters from contender but you gotta give him props on getting the decision. He says he is going to go back up to middleweight and vacate the 154. Can anybody say Kelly Pavlik?

Everyone should be, the poor guy was getting dogged and I mean dogged by everyone. You expect guys like us to dog him, b/c well we hate him. But even media guys, like Rafael where just dogging him Friday. I haven't said anything b/c I didn't see the fight. But in a way is a good thing that he won, Forrest is 38 years old and we need new blood in boxing. -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."

I was very surprised! I've never seen the Contender show, so I wasn't very familiar with Mora. But I figured Forrest was gonna get the job done....especially after that boatload of shit he was talkin'! LOL!

Not sure where to post this so I'll do it in this thread.. I saw five guys fight this pat weekend, who if you match them up correct you'll have great bouts. Ponce Deleon- a big puncher with a lot of flaws, but him in against Johnny Gonzalez and you have a great bout. Juanma- the guy seems to be on his way to be a superstar. Urbano Antillon- I've no seen this kid fight on multiple occasions, the man CANNOT be in a bad fight. He has as tv friendly style as you'll ever see. Match him up against some of the top guys at 130 or 135 and he'll give you a show. Marco Antonio Rubio- this man is not a great talent, but he can punch. Locket seemed to have ZERO chance against Pav, Rubio would at least have had a punchers chance. After five rounds Freddie Cuevas looked like he had been mugged. Good fights out there, with guys that are not big names, hope some of the networks can make them happen. -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."

I watched the one bout of his that was on youtube last week, and the right hook was the first thing that really caught my eye. Short punches too. I wasnt sure that he would be able to survive Ponce's early psychotic attack...but i figured if he could ward that off, he'd be ok. I'm curious as to who they decide to match him up against next.

I've seen two rounds of Juanma and he looks pretty impressive. He seems to have power much like DeLeon, but he also has skills. You put those two together and you have a very good fighter. I think he should go after the other belt holders at 122, Caballero or Molitor, then go after the bigger fish. I'm not surprised that he blew out Ponce, I'm surprised he did it so quickly. I expected a beat down that lasted a few rounds. -- "I don't want to make any excuses but..."

Pavlik VS Lockett - Hey Toe, that variety of punches you kept wishing Pavlik would throw? He must have heard your wishes. We saw right hands to the body. Beautiful left hooks to the body and upstairs to set up the right hand which really destroys his opponents. He keeps being able to throw that variety of punches he will be VERY hard to beat. Yes. Definitely a showcase fight. His defense looked a bit more polished this time too. Its good to see that he is continuing to grow as a boxer and not just resting on his laurels.
