A pure boxer vs. a volume puncher as I see it.
I wouldn't sleep on Martinez though, I give Paul the edge, but Martinez will be no stroll in the park.
Paul's natural attributes are enough to give any fighter complications, but if Martinez fights smart he'll use his speed, overall movement, and accuracy to offset Paul's reach, height, and volume advantage to give Paul fits, which I've never seen from Paul.
Martinez has a rough night, endurance will Martinez's "X" factor IMO down the championship rounds if he makes it that far.
Paul will simply punch, punch, and punch some more.

Therein lies the negative....something coming at you that you're not accustomed to. It doesn't matter that it's coming at you the same way you go at them....you'll have to adjust to the different attack.
Willaims can handle a lefty, as we saw against Winky. It's not Martinez's stanc that is awkward, it's his movement, angles, just his style. Joe Calzaghe's speed and stance are problematic, but it's his attack and movement that are unlike anything his foes are accustomed to. Martinez is a poor man's Calzaghe.
I think Williams wins this one, but has some trouble. Pavlik was more dangerous to Williams- the size and the big punch. But, I saw Willaims completely nullifying what Pavlik threw his way. Martinez is not as dangerous, but is definitely more of a puzzle.

Gluvs, I don't think you have to defend Paul Williams so hard. It's pretty clear that he has the right attitude about taking on opponents and he's about the most likeable guy in the sport.
I think you're a little shell-shocked from keeping Floyd's back all these years!

Jabs (or anyone else w/ a solid opinion)....With both men being south paws, what kind of bad/awkward situations could they be looking at ?
I understand that a conventional fighter and a southpaw run a greater risk of stepping on lead feet and head clashes (was ALWAYS told to be on the lookout/prepared for that).
But never thought about what problems two southpaws could face.
I never faced another leftie my entire time in or out of the service.....always wondered what negatives come with it (other than having to circle the opposite direction and watching for jabs from the opposite hand) ?

Martinez actually KO'd Cintron.
Cintron was hit so fast or hard Cintron believed he was head butted.

but for the most part Cintron did get outboxed and Martinez got robbed with a draw.

This one is a difficult one to pick. I usually just immediatly go with my gut when it comes to picking fight, but on liverpuncher this is by far the longest I've waited to make a pick on a fight. I'm just not quite sure, the safe pick is Williams ofcourse, but I get the feeling that he could possibly be outboxed the same way he was against Quintana. I know he's looked great lately, but he hasn't faced anyone that could outbox him, and Martinez definitely can.
