A pure boxer vs. a volume puncher as I see it. I wouldn't sleep on Martinez though, I give Paul the edge, but Martinez will be no stroll in the park. Paul's natural attributes are enough to give any fighter complications, but if Martinez fights smart he'll use his speed, overall movement, and accuracy to offset Paul's reach, height, and volume advantage to give Paul fits, which I've never seen from Paul. Martinez has a rough night, endurance will Martinez's "X" factor IMO down the championship rounds if he makes it that far. Paul will simply punch, punch, and punch some more.

Arreola on the opener, perhaps against Brian Minto ... decent comeback fight and Minto at least will give him a chance to look good Dec 12: Diaz-Maglinaggi II, Ortiz-Antonio Diaz ... and HBO might pick up tape delay of Klitschko-Johnson.

Dub had a belt at welter and couldnt' get anyone to fight him there. I would venture to say he could care less about belts at this point. And its not Dub who wanted the fight a middleweight, it was Martinez. Martinez didn't want to defend his title on such short notice, which I completely understand. This is a good fight, considering everythign that happen with Pavlik. Who cares if its for some dumb ass belt that Martinez has basically because Vernon Forrest was murdered?

Perhaps Martinez doesn't want his 154 lb title on the line since he's taking the fight on somewhat short notice? That way he can proceed like Pavlik did against Hopkins...even if he loses to Williams, he'll still have his 154 lb title. Just speculating out loud...

If you're the man then you should have to come to the weight where the man is at. Martinez should hold the weight pretty good.

Why the fuck is Williams fighting a jr.middle at middleweight? If you're claiming to be a 3-division fighter, fight him for his WBC 154 title. It's pointless at 160.

I remember reading an interview with Williams where he talked about how he was putting on weight for Pavlik, but now he wouldn't have to (or something to that effect).

"Martinez/Williams is official; but at what weight-class?" To my knowledge it's a middleweight bout, Martinez is moving up for this one. Commendable on martinez's end, to say the least. -- Edited by rikyricardo79 at 11/06/2009 9:27 AM PST

I've heard they're fighting at 154. Not sure if that is true though.

When Pavlik pulled out, Top Rank gave the card to Goosen ... so the Top Rank opener got pulled also ... hopefully they can find an opponent for Arreola who will at least make it a good (albeit sloppy) fight ...

Neut I saw an article this morning that listed ticket prices at $50-$300 (although not on sale yet). Not bad at all.

Yep and prices will be better. I'm hoping for some ringside action if I can swing it.
