Jack But this has nothing to do with history or being right or wrong... Its a simple question, if This guy fought this guy who do you think would win? You know?? Like you said you thought Floyd would've beaten Shane at lightweight. I like to know your rationale for picking fights. For example, In my opinion as much as I like Antonio Margarito he would get his face blown to smithereens if he ever fought either prime welterweight Tito or welterweight Tommy Hearns, because of what those guys brought to the table, Vs what Margarito brings to the table.

See FF, Here we go again... Alexis Arguello vs Shane Mosley... Both giving exceptional contributions to the sport of boxing. Both accomplished fighters and stars in their respective eras. Lovely to have an opinion, both are right? Both are wrong? Unless they fight and sort it out (which they cannot) EVERYTHING is speculation. IF they never fought here are examples outcomes that EXPERTS would have sworn their lives on for the eventual loser... Cotto / Margarito Foreman / ALi Douglas / Tyson Toney / Nunn Ali / Liston Ali / Norton 1 Jones Jr. / Tarver Mayweather / Corrales Duran / Moore Duran / Barkley Barkley / Hearns 1 And many, many, many, many more.... That's why I do like the adage, "That's why they fight the fights!"

I think you've been getting your head filled up with a lot of nonsese. You got Uncle Joe telling you about Aaron pryor getting "ducked". Uncle Joe was f*ckin' wrong, chief. Just like you. Your supposed boxing background isn't doing you much....you talked out your ass about Arguello never being known to have trouble with slicksters, & I pointed out a LOSS to a slickster. Check your tapes & your magazines a little harder, & find some articles about Arguello from the early 80's. it was well-known, & frequently discussed, that he had trouble with guys who boxed well. I think Ol' uncle Joe was too liquored up to hand you down the right info.

I don't need to ever look up boxrec.com to discuss things. At the end of ten rds, Arguello hadn't layed a glove on Fernandez, who was still fresh. Odds are Arguello doesn't catch him in those last 5. Arguello had done zero damage to Fernandez, like he did Mancini, or gone 12 hard rds with like he did with Olivares. boxrec doesn't supply you with that info, does it ? -- Edited by jabsRstiff at 08/20/2008 11:30 AM PDT

Here's what I know, & you don't- While he was 130lb champ, he lost an embarrassing 10 rd fight to Violmar Fernandez, a slickster.
