I had Froch and Dirrell both winning 6 rounds in that bout. If Dirrell had turned it up a notch in the 12th, he would have won on my card. But yes, the ref was terrible.

Guys, I'm still smarting over the officiating and judging of the fights. Most of the boxing writers are agreeing that Showtime needs to solve the officiating and judging. Dirrell should have won the fight and the referee should be suspended. Dirrell should be proud of himself. He is in a unique group of American fighters being lambasted in another country. Remember Whitaker vs. Ramirez ? If I'm Dirrell, Ward, or Taylor, I'm leery of fighting in Europe because they clearly need KO's to win. To Americans, its a tournament, to the Europeans its USA versus Europe ! Check the websites, most writes had JT winning the fight as I had. he clearly had Abraham baffled until that big forearm. -- Edited by ewashi at 10/20/2009 5:32 PM PDT

The fact that it followed "golden girls" makes it the winner.

What I can say for Calzaghe, however is that he had some goods. It amazes me how Froch can be as bad as he is and fail to realize how Joe Calzaghe would THOROUGHLY HUMILIATE him in the ring. He wouldn't even have to train. -- Edited by NeutralCorner at 10/20/2009 1:43 PM PDT

He's got a very intelligent game plan that suits his assets very well. I think his achillles may be his stamina. I noticed by around the 8th round, he was breathing very heavy. That said, if he and Pavlik ever meet, I don't think Pav's has the stuff to penetrate his guard very effectively and I think Pav gets brually KO'd ala JT, but earlier...

Well 6, the Mayweather haters make the same arguement about his reign as lineal welterweight champ. IMO, Pavlik has the belt, so he's the man. But like Money, defending that belt and cementing himself as the best in the division hasn't been a high priority for the "Ghost."
