The matchups for Group Stages 2 and 3 of the Super Six World Boxing Classic were announced tonight by SHOWTIME Sports®. All Group Stage 2 and 3 matches for the groundbreaking tournament will be scheduled to take place in 2010 and will air on the premium television network SHOWTIME®. Dates and venues for the coming matchups will be announced. GROUP STAGE 2 Andre Dirrell vs. Arthur Abraham Mikkel Kessler vs. Carl Froch Jermain Taylor vs. Andre Ward GROUP STAGE 3 Andre Dirrell vs. Andre Ward Carl Froch vs. Arthur Abraham Mikkel Kessler vs. Jermain Taylor The celebrated tournament pits the six best super middleweight boxers in the world against one another in a modified round robin as they compete for supremacy in the 168-pound division and the inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic Cup. The points-based Group Stages ensure a progression of fights and present added pressure for the fighters to earn valuable points towards a berth in the single-elimination Semi-Finals. Each participant will fight three different opponents in the Group Stage segment of the tournament, earning two points for a win with one bonus point for a KO/TKO, one point for a draw and zero for a loss. After Group Stage 3, the four fighters with the highest point totals will advance to the Semi-Finals.

Froch should have lost AT LEAST 2 points last night......... the fact he wasn't deducted any points speaks volume of what Dirrell was up against. I picked Froch to win a UD; because I knew the cards were stacked against Dirrell. If this fight was fought in the US, I would have picked Dirrell by UD.

Takes two to tango. Dirrell didnt exactly define the Sweet Science with his performance. Plus he did way too much bitchin.

When a ref. becomes complacent and allows repeated infractions to take place, such as hitting behind the head(aka rabbit punch) without deducting a pt., he ought to be admonished by the commissioner. A blow on the head can cause serious injury, such as a subdural hematoma, intracranial bleed, brain stem injury and swelling. A hit on the head can also cause a concussion. Froch appeared frustrated, as Dirrell was avoiding getting hit, bending at the waist, reminiscent of Cintron's bout with Margarito. Froch showed his frustration by rabbit punching Dirrell. Dirrell was also warned by the ref. for bending at the waist. As I watched, what struck me the most, was when Dirrell stopped the antics but Froch continued to deliver rabbit punches, without penalty.

I'm on board with you Six. Froch was as dirty as can be. I see the problem with the Americans fighting in Europe, those refs were as biased as ever. The ref in the Taylor fight really rubbed Abraham's nuts for every little complaint but missed the big forearm that changed the fight. I lost respect for Froch last night but I like Abraham minus the bitching over nothing. but the last fighter I saw commit those type of fouls without a warning was Lennox Lewis against Michael Grant. I thought the ref in the Abraham fight wasn't too bad; as Taylor did hit him low a couple of times; the 1st low blow was right on the money, but it was unintentional; Taylor isn't a dirty fighter, never has been............. Lewis/Grant was not on par with the dirty tactics used by Froch........ he tried to land a sledgehammer right, when Dirrell was bent over, and it would have landed right on the back/spinal part of the head......... similar to the one Judah tried to land on Floyd after he low blowed him.......... Those are career ending punches; that should never happen in boxing.

I don't know what you guys think you saw on T.V. .... but to claim Froch was the "dirty" fighter and didn't deserve to win this is laughable! Sense, name me another fighter who committed as much fouls as Froch has in the last year or 2 and didn't get a point deducted.

Carl Froch will soon be exposed and undressed by Mikkel Kessler and Arthur Abraham as Ricky Hatton was by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. The Cobra will be reduced to The Garter.

I don't know what you guys think you saw on T.V. .... but to claim Froch was the "dirty" fighter and didn't deserve to win this is laughable! Dirrell tried to make it a no-contest with his holding, running and .......... well, ...... non-fighting. Now Kessler/Froch ....... that'll be a "fight".

I can't even compare the two. Oh, don't get it twisted, I'm not supporting Froch in any way shape or form. I think he's an idiot. > That one chopping/sledge hammer blow, sealed it for > me....Whether it would've been perceived as > "classless" or not, I'd have taken those gloves off > and knocked his f*cking teeth out, post fight. Hear that. That shot was pure unmitigated bullsh*t. > Oh - BTW - I never watched that Peter - Wlad fight. Then that would explain it.
