With the merger of UFC and Pride, MMA is left with two MMA Production Power House's. UFC Elite XC In my opinion, I have enjoyed many great fight on Elite XC. UFC has had some dud's and I paid 40 dollars. HBO has not picked up UFC and will never pick up the UFC. Dana White wants too much money, and had many altercations with the head of HBO boxing. Dana White wanted full control, and HBO was not willing to give him that power. This goes to prove that many UFC fighters have been in talks with Gary Shaw from Showtime. At Elite XC, Shaw has promised MMA fighters from the UFC better incentives and exposure. Elite XC has also just signed a contract with CBS sports, and will boardcast Saturday night fights on CBS. Showtime has invested alot of money into Elite XC, and now its popularity has grown. I think HBO is fine without MMA, HBO should continue to dominate ratings with many great fights they have on thier time table. Although Showtime is scheduled to show Kessler vs Miranda, Forrest vs Mora, and Qintana vs Williams II. Between Showtime and HBO, this is going to be a great spring.

I heard that Dana White of the UFC lost $50,000 U.S. betting on Juan Manuel Marquez recently.

Dana White owns both WEC and UFC. UFC is way better than elite XC. UFC has more big name fighters and better and more intense fights. Lately UFC has slipped to boring events but a great organization as the UFC will only be down for so long, plus UFC has been around way longer than Elite xc. Elite xc may be better than WEC but WEC gets fighters from Tapout scouts which make WEC that much more interesting than ELITE. Elite may grow in the future to be a worthy opponent. If you match up fighters from ELITE and UFC Elite will get their ass handed to them.

IMO Elite XC is 70% cornball bullshit and 30% fight. They need to get rid of that douchebag at the mic, trim out about half the glitz and put the fighters in the ring already. I find it completely unwatchable unless I record it and FF through the lame.

I concur, Elite XC is better than UFC, however, I don't get hyped before the fights the way I would a boxing match. I'm more excited seeing a VS. fight card than a UFC PPV.

I agree that it's going to be a great spring for fighting and agree that HBO is fine without MMA for now. There's been rumors of HBO and UFC and even HBO and WWE over the years, but I seriously doubt either will ever happen. HBO seems to hold itself to a standard of being "the grand old network" on cable and MMA and Wrestling doesn't fit the mindset. Of course, CBS is "the grand of network" of network TV and they're suddenly going with MMA, so never say never...
