What do you guys think? I think the WBO has enhanced its status in recent years. With guys like Joe Calzaghe holding the WBO belt for so many years it has given the organization more credence.

Yes the wbo has enhanced their reputation. And with Great WBO light-heavy champ Zolt Erdei having 10 title defenses approaching new world record status....they'll even be more enchanced...

Neither ABC organization is any better than the other. Personally, I wish they would all go away. Like I've said many times before, every since Ring Magazine created it's championship policy I don't even keep up with who holds what belt. In divisions that don't have a Ring champion I may pay a little more attention to who holds the ABC belts, because the belt holders are usually all rated as top ten guys. But all in all I wish more boxing fans would embrace the Ring title. Since they created their policy I have noticed more of the top fighters fighting each other and not hiding behind mandatories and things like that. If we all completely disregarded the ABC belts a guy like W. Klitschko couldn't hide behind his belts and try and avoid Sam Peter and have a backroom deal stuck that makes his brother the guy's mandatory in hopes he won't have to fight Peter again. I totally agree with Teddy Atlas that boxing needs one uniform commision. That would eliminate some of the biggest problems in the sport today.

It all depends on who is holding the belt. WBO will always be a bridesmaid and not a bride where all other belts are concerned but it depends on who is holding the belt. Mayweather was the linear champ when he had the WBC belt. Once he retired and Berto has it now. It doesn't hold the same weight. Cotto holds the WBA belt and Margarito vacated the IBF but the winner of this fight will be one step closer to being the true champ, especially if its Cotto. But if Cotto beats Margarito he will not fight Paul Williams he'll fight DeLahoya in December. You might as well prepare for it now.

C'mon, ben, Khan has been on his back more than a $20.00 whore ! At this point in time, Diaz would be the one doing the ass-kicking, get real! Another year, or so, maybe, just maybe, Khan may be ready to take on a real challenge, but not now.

The WBO sucks just like all the other sanctioning bodies. The fact that it is more recent than the others and therefore can't even trace the lineage of its champions makes it even more ridiculous. -- HBO, LETS SEE THE ROUND CARD GIRLS AGAIN!!!! Obama 2008

Amir Khan would kick Diaz's ass believe me. The WBO has quality world champions and I think most would agree it has more credibilty now than it had in the past.

Enhanced it's status how?...by rating Amir Khan over Juan Diaz in the lightweight division? ....or Kevin Mitchell over Jorge Barrios in the Jr. Lightweight, ...or Michael Jennings over Clottey & Quintana in the welters, ...or Bradley Pryce over Vern Forrest in the Jr. Middleweight? Do you really think guys like Khan, Mitchell, and Pryce have EARNED these ratings ? Or are you just tickled pink over the fact that these three "superstars" of boxing are all from Europe? If you honestly think these three have EARNED these ratings, then you're as fucked up as the WBO !
