You gotta be shittin' me, Steve ? I thought I was the only freak on the planet ! Hell yeah, we get a lot of crap. Every time I tell someone I like both teams, they look at me like I'm a hermaphrodite, or something...like it's virtually impossible to like both, but I do, and always have. Have you had the opportunity to see the Red Sox play the Yanks at Fenway ? When you do, ya ever wear a Yankee hat?..............

Pug, I'm a Yankee/Red Sox fan too lol, it is definitely a rare thing. I live in Boston and I love the Yankees, so I get a lot of crap for it all the time. The Red Sox to me are ok, I just prefer the Yankees. I always have, the stupid thing that has never made sense to me is why people ask "What's wrong with you?, You live in Boston so how can you like the Yankees?" To me it's more of the history of the team and in the sport itself, I don't think geographic location should determine who your favorite team is. With that said Go Yankees!!!

He converted me. ************************************ The lucky bastard !..... ...I wish I lived closer to the city, I'd be going to the Yankee games all the time ! I'm a rare freakin' breed I'm told...I like the Yankees, and the Red Sox, which is taboo, especially if you live in New York. My dream is to catch a Yankee-Red Sox game "live" in either stadium, but tickets for those games are as scarce as rocking horse shit, and my availability to get to either venue is never all that clear, so, as in the last words of General Custer, "I'm fucked!"

I do believe, however, that strike zone widened quite a bit for Mariano Rivera. No problem, as I think calls here and there are a part of baseball, and it's in a team's best interest to be out in front enough so that calls aren't a factor.

His 9 sinkers and first fast ball strikes were great but I thought his curve balls and some of his fast balls benefited more from having a wider strike zone last night. Am I the only person who thought that? Though I must admit I think A-Rod may have gotten a few bad calls also. -- Edited by ziptop at 10/30/2009 10:02 AM PDT

All credit to AJ Burnett. His M.O. is to get ahead in the count (he falls apart/gets wild wehn cosistently behind)...and he certainly did that. He did a great job against our left-handed monsters. It certainly would have been nice to win last night, but the Yankees are great. We go with last year's hero, Cole Hamels, tomorrow night. He has not looked the same this season, but we're hoping he keeps it reasonable and our fierce lineup does damage. -- Edited by jabsRstiff at 10/30/2009 8:27 AM PDT

Yeah, but Ryan had a very wide strike zone to try an deal with, but that's baseball I guess. Strikes that should have been called balls. Also, if Cliff Lee would of had the strike zone the other night that A.J. Burnett had last night he probably would have had 16 or 17 strike- outs and a no hitter, but who knows? The last strike pitch by Mariano to Ryan was unreal, it was about a foot off the plate. lol -- Edited by ziptop at 10/30/2009 6:57 AM PDT

Now to Philly for 3 straight games. I think A-Rod will shine once he gets away from the stadium. It looks like he's pressing a bit all series. I think a change aof scenery would do him some justice. Yanks win at the stadium in 6. -- Edited by mr908 at 10/30/2009 6:40 AM PDT

My boys did it last night. The Phillies were making the kid nervous tho. They just some scrappy mofos. And whats up with Pedro Martinez' old ass taking like 5 minutes for every pitch tryna milk the clock so he can rest his arm after every pitch? That right there was killing me softly. Other than that it was a good game and I'm glad my team won.
