This forum should only be used to post "Bugs": System problems and/or technical issues. When reporting bugs, please include a detailed description of the problem as well as the information listed below. The more information you can provide, the faster we can work to resolve your issue. Thanks! 1. General description of the problem: (ie: spellcheck wipes out my post) 2. Operating System: (ie: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, OS X, OS 9, etc.) 3. Broswer Type and Version: (IE 6, IE 5, Safari, Firefox, Netscape, etc.) 4. Timestamp of when the problem occurred: (the exact time of the error occurrence is very helpful) 5. Exact steps to reproduce the bug: (wrote a post. clicked on spellcheck button. my post instantly disappeared. OR...waited 45 seconds, nothing happened, so I clicked 'cancel' and my post disappeared.) 6. Is the bug repeatable? (ie: can you try the same actions a few minutes later and it still doesn't work correctly?) ie: tried the same actions 5 minutes later and my post still disappeared...OR...tried it 5 minutes later and it worked.) 7. Attach a screenshot of the error (if possible)

Okay, this wins my award for the strangest bug I've seen! Can you pm with the particular guest books you experienced this issue with? (or does this happen when you post to ANY guestbook?)

Hi magialuna-- Yes, we're here. We never sleep. 404 errors--is there any place in particular that you're finding these? I hate to say that I'm not experiencing any issues when surfing the site either from work or home connection. I know it's frustrating when you're seeing something wrong and I'm not. :-/ 404 errors are usually indicative of content that has moved or been deleted. I'm not aware of any significant content moving, so I would have to assume that you're trying to get to content that might have been deleted? Let me know what you're trying to get to and I might be able to check it out a little further. If you're really geek curious, you can check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_404 for further explanation of 404 errors. Spamming--as you know, we've got mods looking at the site every day. Not necessarily 24/7, but frequently enough that we'll get the spam taken down. Wishing you a very merry and happy New Year!

More kinks: (Anyone at the helm?) Twice I've tried to post guestbook entries, and both times upon hitting submit it not only doesn't make an entry into that person's guestbook, but it takes me to this: My Messages:Compose MessageUse the form below to compose a message. Enter the member's name in the 'to' field. (Which is a PM form.) -- Watching a train wreck full of clowns

Thanks Lisa. Mark, I've been on a non static IP (HughesNet) for 2.5 years now, and I've had the same exact Viirus setup for as long. Odd that this should just now start showing. -- Watching a train wreck full of clowns

Hi Magialuna-- That's not a bug you're seeing--it's a security precaution. I can't give you the details of why you might get that message (not much point in security if you publicly detail your security plans!), but the message gives you a good indication of what to do. It may or might not be your 'fault' as to what triggers the message. Most of the time, it probably won't be--it's related more to your ISP connection than your actual behavior. In most cases, if you wait just a few minute or two, you'll be able to login/post without any problem. You might also consider checking your anti-virus protection--some of them might be running 'link scanners' that many sites (including HBO) specifically ban. If you're running a link scanner, you'll need to disable it in order to play on the HBO site. Please let us know if you're still having issues. The safeguard you're seeing is *usually* just a temporary delay put in place to keep professional spammers off the site and you should be able to connect within a few minutes.

Here we go again. 12/15/08 18:05 (6:05pm Est): We're sorry... ... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now. We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your systems are free of viruses and other spurious software. Hi-- dghtr and laracroft--sorry for not identifying myself earlier! yay you for practicing good 'net security. And yes, I'm part of the team that tries to get any tech issues resolved. This issue seems to be resolved. For the tech types who care about these things--the issue seemed to be with a redundant database server that wasn't updating properly with the primary. So most of the people connected properly and got updates most of the time, but some of you were having issues some of the time. Very frustrating, I know. We removed the the faulty server and that seemed to resolve the issue over the weekend. We've reconfigured the redundant one and will be adding it back to the service today, (since backup is usually a good thing) so please let us know if the issue persists. Thanks for letting us know about the problem.
