Bug Reports

This forum should only be used to post "Bugs": System problems and/or technical issues.

When reporting bugs, please include a detailed description of the problem as well as the information listed below.

The more information you can provide, the faster we can work to resolve your issue.

Thanks!

1. General description of the problem: (ie: spellcheck wipes out my post)

2. Operating System: (ie: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, OS X, OS 9, etc.)

3. Broswer Type and Version: (IE 6, IE 5, Safari, Firefox, Netscape, etc.)

4. Timestamp of when the problem occurred: (the exact time of the error occurrence is very helpful)

5. Exact steps to reproduce the bug: (wrote a post. clicked on spellcheck button. my post instantly disappeared. OR...waited 45 seconds, nothing happened, so I clicked 'cancel' and my post disappeared.)

6. Is the bug repeatable? (ie: can you try the same actions a few minutes later and it still doesn't work correctly?) ie: tried the same actions 5 minutes later and my post still disappeared...OR...tried it 5 minutes later and it worked.)

7. Attach a screenshot of the error (if possible)

Hello, Admin.17, and thanks for the restored option with new threads. There was a growing concern that we were being
exterminated.:)

Hosts Lisa and Maggie-
Could you please tell me why it is taking so long for HBO to get back to us concerning the inability to create new threads on some forums? If the problem is not an intentional "lock out" then there must be a technical issue that is causing the problem. Please at least update us. If you scroll back on this thread you will see that there have been several posts concerning this problem. We have been waiting patiently, but we would appreciate your giving us a response that explains what is causing our problem, or when it will be fixed, please. Thank you.

I've been an avid listener of Reel Time with Bill Maher, via iTunes podcast. Last year was flawless. This year I've had problems with two of the last 3 episodes.

Episode 132, only donwloaded half the show.

Episode 134, isn't downloading at all.

And the postings have been coming a full week after the show airs. This is current affair discussion after all. By the time the episode is released, it's not very current. Youtube has it before iTunes. Last year it wasn't like this. I need my Reel Time Fix. Hook a brother up!

Hi HostMaggie and all the wonderful posters that went the extra mile to verify that it wasn't just Rome having the problem.

Maggie, I just tried again, and I receive the same error message:
Error: you don't have permission to view the requested forum or category.
I'm using Windows XP SP3, IE 7

I have the same problem whether I'm attempting to create the new thread at home or at work, so I don't believe a firewall issue is at the root of this one (as it was on my last problem).

'Error: you don't have permission to view the requested forum or category. '
When trying to create new topic in 'Member Created Threads' for
ROME
DEADWOOD
JFC
SFU

No problem with
RT, SaTC,SOPRANOS, IT,CURB,ENTOURAGE,BIGLOVE,THE WIRE

IE7...
So nothing is locked you say ? Can a browser be so selective on this site?

Can you guys/gals recreate the problem in the IT dept there?
?:|

( this problem started sometime after Sept 1,2008
..any tech tweaks to the site since then? )

Host Maggie-

I, and several others, have been trying without success to create a new topic in the John From Cincinnati forum.

If you scroll back you will see that this problem was also described and reported by Myles7 on Sept. 23 and Svengali2 on Sept. 24. Svengali2 offered this information.

The op system used - Windows XP, Vista.
The browsers - Firefox, IE.

I have been trying with:

Mac OS 10.5 (leopard) and MacOS 10.3 (panther)
Browsers - Firefox and Safari

It seems apparent that the problem is more than any one OS or browser. The problem occurs only when we attempt to create a new topic in the members-created threads, and appears to be limited to forums where the show is no longer being aired, please see message # 133.

We have been patiently waiting for resolution of this problem, to no avail. Could you please take it upon yourself, Host Maggie, to rectify this problem for us?
We would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Dear Hosts, Lisa and Maggie,
The problem with new threads persists, as I am writing now my 3rd post about it.
It is localized on the "HBO Original Series" forums, specifically on ended and canceled shows.
No matter what browser is used, or what operating system.

It is obvious, that any Host must have wider authority than average board members, so your reply that the problem simply doesn't exist is incorrect and misleading.
You were able to open a new thread, however a poster, like myself can not.

If I may ask, what is the tech department opinion of the situation?
Sincerely.

Hi LadyCalpurnia. I just went to the forum and attempted to create a new topic, and had no problems. I know you can't create one in Official threads, but you should be able to in member-created. Nothing has been locked. Please let us know if you still cannot start a thread, and if not, what browser you are using.

Thanks.

Hi,

In the Rome forum I attempted to start a new thread and received an error message stating that I wasn't allowed to create a new thread???

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Mac OS, Firefox browser

Problem: HBO randomly activates subscriptions to members for me, so that I'm getting email alerting me to new posts by them. I am not the one initiating the subscription! It's happened several times, most recently today with a poster I have on Ignore.
