Damon, I hear you there, friend. Daniels's group pitched in so it was a group effort. No one could afford it otherwise. But, it was interesting. Hope everthing gets better for you. MY market is kinda in the gutter, too. Bluer skies alll around!... LS

At fifty a bottle, it's going to have to wait 'till Christmas or something! My work is way off. It's practically a depression here in LA.

The brand that the Big Galoot bought was called "le Tourment Vert" or the Green Torment, lovely bottle, BTW...but at $50.00 a bit pricey. However, one drinks a little at a time, about a shot, and that's about all for anyone. I only had a couple of sips, though. Never was into licorice. Nice to see everyone. Marion, tell Lurker Hi! Maybe he can say a quick hello while visiting with the vampires. LOL LS

John effin' Huey. What's happening! First, the Sarah and the big galoot, and now you, too, dancing with the green fairy? All right, now I've got to try it. Edit to ask-- is there a type or brand that you recommend? -- Edited by NoHoDamon at 08/27/2009 8:10 PM PDT

Here is a link to some: http://www.absinthiana.com/absinthe/index.php/cat/c18_Absinthe-Spoons.html I happen to like Licorice, and to help control the burn, you can add a bit more aqua. I still miss the hell out of Carnivale! John

Hi Katie! Yes, I got your email and replied. And now I remember your login name - it was the "8" I couldn't remember. Yes, the more I see of True Blood, the more I miss Carnivale. Every now and then I mention it on the TB boards, and get several replies that Carnivale was the best show ever. (And one troll who said it sucked.) Maybe it's time to watch the dvds again... -- I heart New York

Hello fellow Carniholics--long time no see! Marion--Are you home? I sent you a personal e-mail because I thought I saw you on the tonight show when they showed the crowd on the street as they watched Paul McCartney"s band on top on the Ed Sullivan theater marquee singing "Get Back Jo-Jo" I still really miss our show! I guess it was too subtle and tame for the viewers. It was not as quick, bloody and sexual as TrueBlood, which I also love. But that was one of Carnivale's charms...that you could let the atmosphere seep in, like the dust, and then savor everything as the story unfolded. Man, I miss you so much. I'm so happy I have the photos and memories from CarnyCon. That was once in a lifetime! I love you guys -Katie

I asked the Big Galoot how he liked the "Green Fairy", he just shrugged. After the initial shock, it's not so bad, according to him. (Don't worry, he's over 21 now.) But, he did say that it made "Carnivale" understandable. Maybe that's what the rest of the world needed...an altered state of mind. LOL Love ya'll!! LS -- It ain't over t'ill it's over.
