Episode 1: The Comeback

Lisa Kudrow is Valerie Cherish, a former sitcom star who is now the focus of a reality show called The Comeback, which follows her every move as she attempts to land a part in a "young and sexy" new sitcom.

This really was the worst show I've ever seen in my life. It's so awful it should be burned and they should also burn any copies of the show. Then they should issue memory removing pills to viewers who watched it

I liked it when Malin showed her boobs. Otherwise, it wasn't that good.

Has anyone noted that HBO doesn't create boards or community for the shows that stink like: Kudrow's Comeback or Puff Daddy's Standup?

I mean that. But it's been so long since I've seen a new one, will it be the same show? I'll really be glad when it ends though. They keep you waiting and waiting for the season to begin and HBO keeps putting it off. I'm beginning NOT to care anymore about any of their programing. But they don't care what we think do they?

"Note to Self":
After a hard day at work, I really didnt need to see that!
That show!
After tuning in to two episodes back to back, which was hard enough, i actually tuned in to see the first one when they aired it again... i dont think she is acting. i think that is her... naturally.
she stinks so bad the show sucks. She has no range.
she ruined "analyze this"...and that. she cant really ruin this one, its like an egg rotting in the hot sun...
like that fish stinking up the grumpy old mans jeep.
Come on and hurry up with the Sopranos already.

Count me among those who really enjoyed the first episode. Not slapstick funny but very subtle. I like that approach better. Very creative and very sly in the way it sends up television, especially reality television. And the cast was terrific.

I'll watch every episode. Lisa Kudrow is terrific.

My two cents.

I started to watch "The Comeback" the last time it was on. Oh my goodness. The writing was SO horrible and where is the humor? I thought this was supposed to be a drama/comedy... blah, blah. If comedy was included in the script, it was certainly lacking. Kudrow's character is completely unoriginal as she plays a type-cast'Phoebe Buffay' character and out-of-work the actress.'" It's most likely that Kudrow's career will be heading the same direction with this irritatingly boring drivel. I couldn't watch more than 10 minutes.

HBO, do the right thing and cancel this train before it derails.

I disagree with you and I don't like your attempt at poetry either.
Very unimpressive, dude.

This show is an original. I thought it was really, really creative and a lot of fun. And I love Lisa Kudrow, this show is a new dimension of her talent.
She is great. The maid, Esperanza, was a riot, too.
Good Job Lisa & Michael & the entire crew!!

Ok, I may not be popular here, but...
I liked it. It was awkward and funny and I was rooting for Valerie all at the same time. If you like The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc... then this is for you. I found her character to be more humane than in Office & Curb and thought she played it well.
I guess we will have to see after the ratings come out. I find that message boards give a skewed view of what "the public" thinks. It really is just who is "louder" and has more time on their hands.

I vote "yes" to The Comeback!

p.s. I am still disappointed that Friends is done and Everybody Loves Raymond as well. I am hoping that the sitcom genre is not dead and there are more clever ones like this being written. I do watch reality stuff but sometimes just want to laugh (and not just at someone's expense as reality shows seem to promote).
Let's just give this a chance and see where it goes. It may develop and grow with some time. I thinkl this was a great start and hope the naysayers don't squash it out of spite. BTW - I never did care for Carnivale, so I don't get what all the fuss about it's demise is about.
