Valerie gets a new dress and a new look for a familiar TV-award show.

She should have just left it on the way it was. She did look hot. Val and Juna look close enough to be sisters. But you know, according to Hollywood there's nothing cuter than those young cheerleader types.

This episode ROCKED!!!

Some of my favorite parts:

Gigi ripping her dress and holding it closed and then totally making out with one of the Indian guys at the post show party.

Jane tripping and falling on her face on the red carpet with her new shoes on...she's starting to enjoy the little taste of show biz and can't quite fill the shoes, so to speak...

Juna asking to Val to leave and Val protesting that she hasn't had a chance to hang out with the gang, but then when she finds out it's at Kiefer Sutherland's house, she's off and running.

The awkward position of Val wanting to leave out the FRONT door with Juna, but Juna begging the security guard to sneak out the back.

Tom asking for his hand back from Val at the awards show.

Val checking to see if they are showing the announcements for the People's Choice Awards on TV at 5:00 a.m.

Val "listing" her awards when prompted by Jane. Well...the first one was my People's Choice Award...followed by awkward silence only to be "saved" by the entrace of I think Mickey???

The backward dress, which, in my opinion, she should have left on that way and really showed her stuff, as she looked AMAZING!!!

Gigi Gigi Gigi...can we please have some more Gigi??? Stuffing her face during the awards and having food all over her when the camera pans to their section. Crying because the other writers call her Aunt Sassy's Bitch. Sticking her ass in Val's face when the camera is on. She is just so uncouth and uncultured and should fit in with derelict writers on the staff, but they won't let her...she's all alone too.

MICKEY!!!!!!!! Awesome awesome awesome!!!! Yellow teeth, cheezy grin, Val's number one fan. Where would he be without her??? So sweet when he took off to "let the dogs out" when he found out she needed her hair done by someone else. Ugh...and when he sends Val the flowers and she reads "from your favorite gay" OUCH!!! I know it's not from this episode, but when he's just staring down the two guys eating in the cafe??? Hilarious!!!

Markie Mark trying to slip Val the toungue in front of the camera and she gets all freaked about it!!! I just LOVE Mark!!!

I kind of like this show just because it is so different in the sense that Valerie's life is so funny and patheticly sad at the same time. It's kind of interesting. It's like Juna is what she once was but on a larger scale (music too)and, without really trying! She's crazy jealous (Val)about it but doesn't want to come off as anything but sweet so, she sort of pals around with her calling her "Baby Girl" and offering 'advice'. HA!
I feel bad for he most of the time...except when she insists on entering every room saying "Allo allo allo!". That just kind of makes me wanna kill her. It's like nails across a chalkboard!!!!

the show is written with valerie as a "has been" , corny and vunerable.

you either get it or you don't. personally, i love it but it's not for everyone.
of course the show makes valerie look bad

I would like this series if she didn't come across so badly.

IF their intention was to do this, then they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Does she EVER stop talking and sounding like a total moron? Listening to excuses pass as conversation gets old reallllly fassssst.

I have to agree with the poster who said watching this show is like watching a train wreck.

Ever so often it has a bright spot but mostly it just seems on the verge of falling on it's face which is a shame cuz I really like Lisa, HATED Friends but thought she was one of the only bright spots.

This show is making that assumption look bad.

THE COMEBACK/ENTOURAGE (HBO) - "Entourage's" second season continued to climb in the ratings as Sunday's installment drew a season-best 2.2 million viewers, up 38.36% from its season premiere (1.59 million on 6/5/05). Conversely, lead-out "The Comeback's" struggles continued as 937,000 viewers tuned into its most-recent episode.

The Futon Critic, August 10, 2005

Too bad for Kudrow. The end is near.

As for his critics, Albrecht points to the emergence of "Entourage," the second-season comedy seemingly on the verge of hit-dom. But he also believes HBO has become a victim of its own success.

"There was a bandwagon people jumped on when they thought we were the answer that everything was wrong on television," he said. "Now it almost seems people are mad at us because we're not living up to their expectations."

I got this from Hollywood Reporter, an artical about how much HBO is riding on Rome's success. The article ended with this. For all of us who LOVE THE COMEBACK and wonder why some people post negative comments, this is why.

This show is getting better each episode! This one was hilarious. From the snoring to the rolling up of the red carpet was just funny. The green dress, wearing the dress backward, taking Jane "even thoough shes fat and no one likes her" as her date, Jane blocking her from the camera with her big butt. Missing the publicity with Juna on the red carpet because of the backwards dress. The camera crew running to keep up with Val trying to keep up with Juna. Juna's tribute to Valerie being cut off. Everything, in this episode was just funny. Kudos to the writers and the cast! I hope the Comeback does come back!

What I truly loved about this episode was the way it showed Valerie sincerely has a heart and all her shortcomings are due to her insecurities. It's hilarious to see how the rules that applied when Valerie was 'the star', don't apply.

Her apparent affection for Juna seems to be Valerie's love of not Juna as a person but her stardom. At the end of this episode, a photographer snaps a shot of Valerie and Juna in their gowns as the glamourous night is fading.Beautiful.

Lisa Kudrow really shines in this role and I hope HBO takes time with this show.

It's the best show on television... I can't wait for each episode. Lisa Kudrow does such an amazing job that I just think of her as Valerie Cherish... Phoebe has been erased from my mind!

Darby, you're right when you say there are so many quotable things on this show. My friend and I always bring up Valarie when something embarrassing happens to either us or someone else. We say, "oh that was a Valarie moment, or they're having a Valarie moment". We also clasp our hands together and bow when we give thanks. It's a little Kamp but it's fun.

Someone on this website also put a list together of quotable Valarieisms. I too hope this show doesn't get canceled.

I was watching this episode again last night and found some other funny scenes: when the announcing comedian says that Paris Hilton has a reality show taping in the men's room and the camera pans to Valarie fake laughing - she's a riot! Or when the reality show winner of Project Runway tells Valarie to twist her head around so that the dress is on right - hahaha. Or Valarie looks at Gigi in disgust when she asks how she looks in her black dress - TOO HILARIOUS!
