Concerned that Paulie G. has written an unflattering line that will turn audiences against her character, Valerie enlists a new writer, Gigi, to help pitch a less-offensive one. Meanwhile, Valerie rethinks her impulsive decision to adopt a puppy.

Joeyff - HBO is not a cable station for intellectuals. It's people like you who think that by attending an independent movie you've removed yourself from the rest of society who enjoys mindless blockbusters YOU'RE NOT! The Comeback is just like any other show on regular TV; what's different is that we can see things on HBO: sex, cursing, nudity etc, ect that we don't on regular network shows. Imagine Will and Grace on HBO, seeing Jack get porked like a greased up pig by another man! And before I get labeled as a "hater", that's a description from Jack himself. Anyway, in reviewing some of the profiles of those who hate the show, it appears this is the only website they visit. Ha Ha! "And just like that, I untied myself from Mr. Big. I was free, but there was nothing exquisite about it".

Exactly...it's for the easily influenced mind. Tell the weak minded something enough times and they think their on the inner circle of some high concept. I liken it to the kid in college who hears something new in a seminar(data or ideology) and than passes on that info to anyone that will listen...as if he is now an expert on said subject. CANCEL THE COMEBACK...salvage your reputation HBO.

I have been reading the posts about the show and whether or not it is good, and have come to this conclusion. For those who are trying to characterize this as "intelligent" humor, I think you are just plain wrong. This is entertainment industry-insider "funny". Oh mi god!, if I were a famous actress or director wouldn't watching this be captivating? It's just like those of us 20 and 30 somethings that watched S&TC and identified with those women. The writing was clever, we related to it, and it was laugh out loud funny! This is the same thing I guess, but you have to have starred in a sitcom in the 1980's to get it. At least when Lucy and Ethel were in those kind of situations, you were also laughing your ass off. There just isn't any of that here...it's deadpan. Final analogy - George on Seinfeld eating a candy bar with a knife - then everyone is doing it.... Those who like this show don't know why they like it, they are just trying to seem smart to those who don't...

As I said, 'I'm not suggesting that any of the characters have a lot of redeemable qualities . . .'. However, I do feel for Valerie because the jokes on her - and she's the only one who doesn't know it yet.

Funny, all nine people who like the seem to share the same character traits...their delusional and live Fantasyland.

I notice that HBO hasn't set up a topic for Episode 5. Could it be that they are going weary of the comments. This show sucks and everybody knows it. If this show was on a regular network with paid advertising, it wouldn't of made it past two episodes, " THE COMEBACK", RIP !!!

After I finished vomiting, composed myself and brushed my teeth and all, I realized that the type of person that would write this would be just the type of person that gets taken in by the stupid celebrity/idolization that I'm guessing this show is aimed at. This is just not the type of stuff most HBO viewers are really into. I myself write this hoping that someone, anyone, whether the writers or HBO execs see that it's just not good entertainment and we're not interested. > We all have a bit of Valarie inside of us, I think > that's why some hate so much. Here's an example: > I'm finishing all my posts with an ode to MICHAEL > PATRICK KING. By doing this I hope either he reads > it or someone close to him does. In this way he'll > know who I am. From that point on he'll always look > for MY posts. > > Now after writing that, doesn't that make you cringe > inside. Deep in my mind I feel it's true but reality > is far different. That's what I love about "The > Comeback", secretly inside we all wish we could stand > out but the reality is - we don't.

I too hope someone from HBO reads these boards... so they come to their senses and understand the only people that enjoy this show are extremely delusional. CANCEL THE COMEBACK!!!
