I would like to know where Mr. David got the inspiration to use the name Funkhouser? My last name is Funkhouser and it is unusual to see it anywhere in print or on TV. Thanks. Billy Funkhouser

Maybe someone can enlighten me. In this episode, when Larry tosses the gross $50 bill on the floor as a diversion so he and Cheryl can get out of the memorial service, everyone scrambles to get the bill. I saw the episode and thought it was funny.

A friend of mine saw it, and he thought it was funny too, but he saw an ellement I hadn't picked up on (maybe I'm dense!). He thought the mad scramble for the money was intended to play on the old stereotype that Jewish people are money-grubbers, so naturally all the Jewish people at the memorial service (and I don't know that they were all supposed to be Jewish) would dash around trying to get that $50 bill, as nasty as it was. I just thought the set-up was funny, and, to be honest, the ethnic humor aspect didn't occur to me.

Did I just plain miss the joke? I'd appreciate hearing everyone else's opinion. Thanks.

Wow, this episode has to be seen to be believed, recalling the heyday of curb at it's most boldly un-PC (i.e. the "survivor" episode, the incest support group, etc). Loving this season.

I think I watched this one after Real Time last night and it's pretty good.

Susie cracks me up. She's your typical, "don't fuck with me," kind of gal. She reminds me of the discussions on Real Time board when someone referred herself as the Jewish girl who takes away others' lunch in school. LOL. SUSIE ROCKS. She's my favorite character for now.

Cheryl Hines is always hot, but nothing beats watching Susie's, "sick fuck," slaps all over LD. LOL

small detail... i think it's funny that Larry doesn't subscribe to HBO! (remember Leon complaining about them having only basic cable! ;)

This is just the best thing that ever happened to TV.

This show is the only reason I even turn on the tube.

I hate Vivica Fox's character though because she's just completely unbelievable/ unrealistic. Who'd be that demanding when someone is welcoming you to their home? I don't get that at all. Her character is just WAAAAY too forced for me.

Anyone agree?

Larry using Leon to retrieve his Jersey was fuckin brilliant. "Thats how I doose it". LOL. He was playin on a stereotype and it was funny as hell...and I'm african american myself. You gotta laugh in life. LD has no fucking boundaries and that's why I love his work.

Also, More Gina Gershon PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait, are you telling me that curb2020 and TheGhostofBillyLeotardo are the same person? You use two different handles on the same message board? Do you discuss episodes with yourself?

And *I'm* supposed to get a life.

To RobOxnard: Let me run through your points to illustrate how much of a pathetic loser you are.

First, I was simply being civil by saying that you are entitled to your opinion (by no means did I say or imply that I had to approve of anything). However, since you acted like an asshole, I am now forced to hit back harder.

Second, yeah I didn't get the line right verbatim, but I was just going by memory after one viewing. Unlike you, I didn't rush to my TIVO to replay it 20 times to get it exactly right. You probably were the type who pointed out every minor error that the teacher made in school.

Finally, what happened in "Mel's Offer" wasn't even close to this episode.

Get a life Rob, if you hate the show so much, watch something else.
