I keep watching this episode. After the play when Larry is walking inside with the exterminator, he is obviously having a hard time not laughing. They have about 8 cuts and Larry keeps looking away trying not to smile. It cracks me up as Mike says," Yeah I'd do it again" and Larry agrees with him. The show just gets better, felt like a Seinfeld episode, Larry is in the zone.

As much as I loved 'The Anonymous Donor" (without realizing it was the only Weide episode... now this all makes perfect sense), I'm starting to think that it might have been wise to end the show after season five's finale. However, you could take it a step further and say, if they had ended it after season three, the show would be worshipped in cult comedy circles as a complete masterpiece now. As it stands, they are diluting the brand and really should end the show while it still has a shred of dignity left. One great episode for every three or four fair/poor ones (basically the batting average for seasons 4-6) doesn't really cut it.

yep.. i guess you did not hear, Weide has left the show, he was not even suppose to do an episode this year but did. He has moved on to bigger and better things.. DUQ FAQs - Curb Your Enthusiasm Q: Is Curb coming back for a sixth season? A: Yes. It started shooting in October '06, probably to premiere in the Fall of '07. Q: What's this I hear about you not returning to the series? A: With all due respect to Mark Twain, rumors of my departure are actually quite accurate, although I did direct one final episode for the upcoming season (Episode 2). I've loved everything about the show, and it's been very good to me, but I now have other creative opportunities available that I want to pursue. I worked on ''Curb'' almost exclusively for seven years. Each time I return for another season, it's usually a nine-month commitment. I'm attached to direct a feature next year, so it basically boils down to a scheduling conflict.

Thanks for the agreement in my view on Weide. I guess you did not hear, Robert B Weide is done with Curb. He has left the show, the second episode of this season was it. i kinda thought that this was going to happen. but Larry Charles has had some funny episodes. He is due to direct one he has not directed one since the premiere. I also noticed something that bothered me, in The Ida Fuckhouser Roadside Memorial episode they cut out a very funny scene that was in the season 6 preview of the season. When Susie and Jeff were yelling at Larry when he stole the flowers back, Jeff says What The F..... i thought it was hilarious. but if u go back and watch it you see the edit. it is a shame cause that made the whole scene i dont like what they went with. But lets just hope that the final 4 episodes are funny. they should be if they follow history. Especially number 8

curbfan25, I think you just hit the nail on the head. As you go back through the seasons, most of the great episodes are directed by Weide. I think he has the rhythm of the humor down, his editing is impeccible, and most importantly, he seems to reign Larry in as compared to other episodes where David almost seems to be encouraged to go OTT in every scene. Why is Weide directing so few episodes this year? You are so on the money and I can't believe I didn't put this together before. -- Edited by dvakman at 10/19/2007 6:32 AM
