In the Season Six finale, an upcoming Bat Mitzvah provides Larry with an opportunity to clear up his recent domestic travails--as well as some nasty rumors. Discuss now!

From the comments I was expecting more from this episode but I still really enjoyed it and thought it was Hilarious. However Larry getting together with Loretta seems to come out of nowhere. There really should have been some hint of this earlier in the series to make this believable, and the whole montage at the end while funny did not sit well with me. It seems like this was meant to be an hour long season finale like the last few and for some reason he decided to chop it up and cut it all out. It really looked like there was a plot happening that we were never shown, particularly when Suzie arrives at the door and Loretta abuses her. If that had been fleshed out by an extra 30 minutes the whole plotline may have been more Believable. The Restaurant Opening remains the best season finale of any show. On the plus side it was a great season. I think Larry has enjoyed writing it and definitely looks like it is set to continue, with the Cheryl story the first arc which has to be concluded in another season. Cheryl is the perfect counterpoint to Larry and it would be funny to see her get jealous of Larry & Loretta and want to get back with him. Thi swas hinted at when she watched LD & Loretta dancing. That could be the source of some fun. I would like to see them get back together but it would have to be done in a way that Loretta is not hurt. Does anyone have any confirmed news that more seasons are on the way? I hope so.

Quit ripping on Cheryl, it's her right to leave or stay. She's expressed to Larry in the past the problems in thier relationship but he wasn't listening. If this show were real life i'd say it was a good wake up call for Larry. He needs therapy. Season six is WAY better than five. Susie got told off! damn Jeff lose some weight so they don't have to cancel the show because you died.

I have loved this show from the beginning although I only began watching it this season again (scheduling, etc.). This is one of the best written comedies ever. Larry David is incredible as "Larry David". I don't think anyone else could pull the type of character off. The entire cast is hilarious. I look forward to next seasons episodes. Thank you to the writers, producers and actors for such a funny and intellectually-challenging series.

The dance at the Bat Mitzvah was beautiful and sad at the same time...to see Cheryl looking over at Larry...to see Larry happily embracing another...and so ironic, she was in his house all the while...unbelievably brilliant writing...BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! john

WOW...Incredible...DAMNIT...Larry really hit us with a curve ball...who would have expected a non-comedic twist like this? One could compare it to the Soprano's ending...Does this mean he's done with the show? DAMNIT I hope not... john

podar, your statement: "Seinfeld brought an innocent charm to Larry's humor, but CYE is the real deal." hits the nail right on the head. very well put. people will always compare Seinfeld to Curb, and more often then not, i feel that Seinfeld gets preferential treatment for nostalgic reasons. i've always felt that Curb Your Enthusiasm was a more mature peice of work, though, both in style and writing. this last season really proves it, with Larry David taking huge risks and presenting truly unexpected storlyines such as this season finale. (e.g., can you think of another successful sitcom where the central character divorces their spouse and takes another?)

Having just read the whole thread I picked up some comments along the way I'd like to address. Thanks for being with me. 1. Thank you, briantek, for the image! 2. The song, "You Don't Know Me" was NOT written by John Legend, although he sang it beautifully. It's a song written by Cindy Walker and Eddy Arnold in 1955 and recorded by Arnold that year. The first version of the song to make the Billboard charts was by Jerry Vale in 1956, peaking at #14 on the pop chart. Arnold's version followed two months later and went to #10 on the country chart. The best-selling version of the song is by Ray Charles, who took it to #2 on the Billboard pop chart in 1962. It later became a #1 country hit for Mickey Gilley in 1981. 3. royalviking, regarding, "I didn't get the whole Black thing, really. Is it racism, or toying with racism, or not racism at all, the notion of having a family displaced by a Hurricane run throughout the series." I think Larry's "black" humor is similar to Howard Sterns'. Larry likes working with various people of ethnicity who don't take themselves any more seriously than he does about himself and his Jewish roots. CYE is for those who can laugh at themselves. 4. larryrulz and i24destiny, next season, I, too, would LOVE to see Wanda come back for a few episodes! Imagine her reaction to Larry's relationship with the Blacks. She was always accusing him of racism. She'd probably move in to make sure he wasn't pulling any stunts. 5. improvman, you said, "I just didn't buy Larry and Loretta falling for each other. This came out of left field ... there should have been more chemistry between the two up until then ..." Funny, as soon as Larry and Cheryl split up, not only did I think about him and Loretta but I noticed others here mentioned it, too, so I don't think it was that far out in left field. I saw the light bulb go off in Larry's head, suddenly. Another one of his brilliant ideas, possibly all in his imagination, possibly not. I don't think the relationship will last but it was a perfect ending for the season. One thing with the Blacks is that almost anything he does is okay by them. 6. curb2020 said, "Nothing is set in stone, but the New York Post reported that Larry is interested in doing two or three more seasons. HBO has to agree to renew it, as well, but they have always said that they will bring back the show for as long as Larry wants. However, given HBO's recent track record of renewing and canceling shows, I'll believe it when I see it. " Their failure to renew John From Cincinnati bothers me, but would they be dumb enough to not renew Curb? Nah. Not that dumb. It seems unanimous that Leon is for sure Larry's best find in awhile and I love the Blacks, too. That said, Cheryl Hines is great and I don't want her gone. The real life situation is unfortunate for the actress and the real life Larry isn't going to punish Cheryl, so don't expect her gone any time soon. No other show makes me laugh so hard and grit my teeth, but the finale was just plain over the top fabulous and it felt like a gift from Larry to us. I agree Larry David is a genius up there with the elitest. Seinfeld brought an innocent charm to Larry's humor, but CYE is the real deal. Along with wishing some Wanda for next season how about Menena (?) the hooker from the marijuana bust episode? She was the bomb. "Where's my skrilla?" Seeing Cheryl's concerned look in the finale was a promise of things to come, I bet. The ending was a perfect temporary solution to Larry's being alone. -- Mother of God, Cass/Kai... -- Edited by podar at 11/13/2007 1:06 PM -- Edited by podar at 11/13/2007 1:07 PM

I think next season they should let Leon hook up with Susie, since he always talked about how her bad-ass attitude turned him on. -- Edited by curb2020 at 11/13/2007 11:13 AM

ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENE IN THIS EPISODE WAS AT THE END WHEN SUSIE ( I LOVE WHEN SHE & LARRY GO AT IT) WAS CURSING OUT LARRY & LORETTA JUMPED IN & WAS LIKE " HOLD UP BITCH, ........." & LARRY WAS IN THE BACK OF HER MAKING FUN OF SUSIE. THAT HAD ME LAUGHING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THEY HAVE TO BRING BACK THE BLACKS.

By the way, it was great to see Vivica A Fox finally wearing some hot clothes, since for most of the year, she wore dumpy shirts and pants.

The Blacks NEED to be kept on the show. The whole family adds and adds to the comedy. This has to be one of the best seasons yet. Please come back LD!
