Ok first things first. This is my favorite show on TV and has been so for the last few years. Many of the scenes never grow old especially from epidsodes such as, "beloved aunt" , "the bracelet", "the group", "thor", "the baptism", "Chet's shirt", "Corpse sniffing dog", "krazee eyes killa" , "the weather man" "the survivor" , "lewis needs a kidney", "the car pool lane", "the ski lift", "opening night", "the korean bookie' "the end (with a great guest appearence from sacha baron cohen), "meet the blacks", "the anonymous donor" and most recently, "the theripist" which was AWESOME. But I sincerely felt sheistad by larry due to the ending and the general way he handeled himself throughout the show. Is it just me or did larry seem to actually be upset or in an unusual state of mind throughout the whole episode (even given the fact that he needed to play the part of a devistated husband). The whole episode felt like he brought something intangible to the set that day that dampered the general mood of the show and made otherwise funny awkward interactions feel slightly sad, or overdone, or without the usual "gusto" that has been the glue for his interactions in the past. While larry's idea for impersonating a man with cerebral palsey or down syndrome (not sure which) had MUCH potential, things seemed to happen too quickly without the time or usual connection between characters that makes similar scenes hilarious. And during this scene what would eventually come to fruition (the director coming to his office) was unusually predictable and sudden. All of these factors contributed to the general "meh" sentiment on the set and in my home!! As well, the idea of the gerbal seemed out of place. Just because the gerbal went missing doesnt mean that it HAS to be the thing that is up larry's a** and the cause for his future embarassment. This pattern is losing its novelty because it feels like larry doesnt care about putting unusual twists on possible threads to the story. Instead this episode was weaved from the most obvious and easily predictable ends to be later tied up. This predictablity also contributed to the lackluster feelings previously described. Furthermore, the bat mitzvah, wherein larry approaches the mic didnt have any comedic interactions and just seemed more like a McCarthian rant. Senator McCarthy never made me laugh. And finally larry had numerous oppertunities to have more interaction with Mr. "no fly zone" (who is absolutely hilarious) which he didnt use to his advantage. And finally, the connection he had with loretta seemed forced and waaaay too spontanious. Maybe I'm wrong about this but werent we supposed to feel like they had at least a little bit of a deeper connection? The absolute lack of dialogue as well as the abscence of "true love" body movements and gestures made everything seem overdone. It just didnt seem sincere. But maybe that's how he intended it to be? Oh and one more thing, the christmas card has been a recuring cliche for the last 10 years in television and movies? (not that all cliche's are drab, only the ones that dont bring ANY new or humerous concept to the table no matter how small -- this as well as my other points are definitely argueable but still...) Who knows... Well I feel let down.

P.S on a positive note: Richard Lewis is ALWAYS funny. And larry's theripist in the last episode was one of the funniest characters ever on a curb series. Just look at his facial expressions!

Larry if you're reading this. I'm sorry. But constructive criticism can go a long way. Ever watch any of those innumerable football movie dramas? Angels in the outfield? They make it clear that hope exists for even the lowest of the low on the worst of days.

Sincerely,
Charles

Best season finale ever. I knew LD was gon' hook up with Retta. For those asking should Cherl take him back? She left him!! for a dude the peddles draws for that matter. LD went through alot tryin to get that lady back & she still wasnt tryin 2 give him no play. I love the Irony of the whole situation though....... This WHOLE season was preparing us for this 60th episode.... yall act like it's the end if Cherl & LD's not together anymore. Maybe I'm looking @ it different. I was amped when they was @ the Bat Mitzvah & LD was peepin out Retta (Yeahhh Larry!!) That's when I knew it was official like stripes & whistles.

Season 7 gon' be off the chain.

if anyone wants to see more of the actor that plays Leon, i've seen him now 2 weeks in a row on the show: "Everybody Hates Chris"; he plays a barber. (not sure how the writer's strike will affect new episodes, but they seem to be running fresh ones now)

I think that larry is done with cheryl and has a new relationship with loretta. I think the next season is going to be about larry's and loretta's relationship developing, larry and leon creating mayhem, and cheryl trying to get back with larry because her life is boring with the underwear designer. i'm just guessing though. nobody can predict larry david.

That last episode was great. When Larry left Cheryl, it unleashed more and more of his craziness with each episode. At first, I was hoping that Cheryl would come back because she was the sane one and provided a balance for his character. But she restrained him a little, so it was better for the show. The last episode was the perfect season finale.

Funny thing is I didnt care for Seinfeld but LOVE LOVE LOVE CYE. That ending was hysterical. I dont care what anyone says..and what a twist. I would have never in a million years come up with that. I guess he fits right in with the Blacks now doesnt he? AWESOME LARRY!! The Other side of Larry David...who knew??
Not only that.. loved John Legend...how beautiful was that ending?? Bringing in Leon ( who the hell is he? Hes wonderful!) Excellent casting of ALL the Blacks..just LOVE EM!! Its wonderful how someone stuck up for Larry for once...YOU GO GIRL!! Cheryl never stuck up for LArry..The improver not the inventor...Good God so many wonderful one liners. I cant beleive the season is over already. I read in the post a month ago he said he was going to do a couple more seasons. Im sure they will keep Cheryl on the show..maybe she will be trying to get LArry into the FLY ZONE again LOL...
Loved it hats off to you LARRY DAVID and the wonderful cast...amazing comic geniuses...LOVE FUNKHAUSER =) and all the rest! See ya next season FO SHO!!

What a great episode and an absolutely fantastic ending to the season! I was laughing and happy for Larry throughout the whole ending.

The ending really showed the "sweet" side of Larry. (Remember when Cheryl broke up with him and said she never saw the other sides of Larry? It looks like Larry does have other sides!)

Based upon the ending, it seems highly likely that the Blacks will be back for another season (if there is a Season 7). Having them in the show definitely made it even more hilarious to watch.

Leon is a riot. I loved the scenes when he talked to Hal with the wrong cell phone and when he told Larry about how to handle the guy who insulted him at the ENT doctor's office. Definitely looking forward to more of Leon and the rest of the family.

I wonder if Cheryl Hines will be back for the next season (if there is one)? It seems that her character and Larry are now separated for good. This will be interesting.

The reason the woman at the doctor's office had a tickle in her butt was to confirm that Larry really didn't have the gerbil in is ***hole. Since he too had a tickle. Also, I think you won't see anymore episodes because of the way the show ended..Larry being at the soccer game, movie, greeting card. Remember when he told Cheryl's boyfriend that he was wearing the no-flyzone underwear? this marked a new Larry. Good Job Larry, your the best!

Loretta and Wanda Sykes should be in season 7. I want to know since Wanda and Cheryl are best friends. Will Wanda and Loretta hit it off and become BFF or go head to head. Go team Loretta!

Schlepper said "what i love about the bat mitzvah episode is the way that "larry portrays the blacks. he has them down pat. for someone who probably doesnt hang around witha lot of black people , he sure does get them really good. it was hilarious how vivica gave it to susie. susie has met her match. i am surprised that leon didnt make a bbq in the bathtub upstairs or that he didnt pimp out larrys car. i justknew that leon would borrow his car and never bring it back or eat all of larry;s food and then pretend like he was never around. and what no watermelon jokes. come on. you have endless opportunites here. dont waste them. mopey dick was very good. that is probably how leon would have pronounced it anyway if he had read the book."

You are an idiot. Clearly you don't even understand what made the show funny. Leave the posts to intelligent people OK?

Kudos to LD and the cast. Fantastic season and best finale ever (including the cursing scene at the Restaurant opening). The final montage, peaking with Susie meeting her match in Loretta, was f*ing brilliant.

To the poster who gave us the Xmas card jpg file, thanks, it's my background picture.

Finally, anyone thinking about Wanda Sykes? She always had Larry pegged for a bigot. What does she think of LD and Loretta? Bring her back for season 7 and there will be comedic gold in them thar hills.

MAZEL TOV LARRY ON AN AMAZING SEASON!

Wow I hate to be a party pooper...but I thought the finale was a real fizzle...............

Then when the scene changed to the Bat Mitvzah I sat patiently waiting for something FINALE-ESQUE to happen....nothing..........so I thought...maybe this is an hour long show...hang in there. Then in the last 2 minutes..........."something" appears to happen and then BOOM the show is over........I really was sitting there waiting for more......... don't get me wrong I too think LD is brillant....but last nights show seemed choppy and then too abrupt at the end.

Congratulations HBO and Larry David for a brilliantly hilarious finale to a brilliantly hilarious show.

I wasn't a huge fan of Fox in the show, but totally dug her in this episode.

All I can say is PERFECT!

Bravo!

Perfect show, perfect conclusion, just wraps everything together from season one till finale seamlessly - Loretta and Larry together just made every episode come together! Very impressed!

And to think, this was the ending I DIDN'T want..I love it!
