I would be interested to hear your thoughts about this: I absolutely love Curb. Larry's humor and perspective and the entire show are in my humble opinion absolutely brilliant and reveal that he is in fact a comic genius. There is so much about the show that is fantastic! The plots, the characters, the minor characters are brilliant!, the guest-stars, the real-life issues and situations..... I have seen every episode many times (except of course season 6); LD never ceases to amaze me. I could not live w/o Curb. MY LIFE IS A CYE EPISODE. EVERY DAY. EVERY EVENT. I do not visit a therapist or counselor- I watch Curb. LD takes real-life situations and circumstances and brilliantly places and weaves them together, resulting in a comic masterpiece. There are many things about Curb that are hilarious: the plots, the stories; the real-life situations; the allusion and foreshadowing to previous and future episodes; The main characters and the supporting actors; the irony; the exaggeration; the honesty; ....it goes on and on. What are your thoughts?

I heard there was *some* progress with the writer's strike today, not sure if it affects Curb or not but at least the writers and the head honchos are communicating somewhat! ::keeping fingers crossed!::: -- ********* HBO Forums Host

To Everyone- Thank you for your thoughts and input. I wish we could have a Curb party one night and just talk about the show and LD and all the characters and stories--- and I am sure the evening would turn into a Curb moment.....things would go wrong, people would do annoying things to our group, we would get into some kind of crazy situation--- and we could write a Curb episode about it. (lol) My basic point is this (and I think you got it the first time, but I at least want to repeat): Curb is the best! and the episodes of Seinfeld that LD wrote are the best! LD is a an absolute genius,.....but in a real kind of way. His humor is "real-life comedic creativeness...." or something like that. He is not fake. He is real. He can create a comedy that goes where no one else goes, and brings up issues that no one else brings up---- but it is all just COMEDY. Therein is some of the brilliance. I do not sense that he is trying to make a statement or influence other's opinions. He is simply creating COMEDY. I like this. Also, he is secure enough that he can put himself into all kinds of vulnerable situations, and be honest about the fact the he is a frail human being. The truth is, the situations he presents and gets "stuck" in are situations that EVERYONE gets into and suffers from (we are all imperfect, frail humans), yet he is one of the few who admits he gets into them!!! Not to be overly analytical, but I like this about LD. So, in effect, LD is the most secure person around. There is much more to say. (FYI, The article in the New Yorker is a good explanation of LD's comic brilliance.) Every CYE episode is fantastic. Again, I could not live without CYE. I justhope they keep making more episodes!!!

Larry is THE funniest man on TV today, hands down!! There are alot of talented actors out there but Larry David makes me hurt from laughing so hard, know what I mean? Wish he'd run for President, he'd have my vote! LOL

Well put, you've said exactly what I think also! I'm actually going off of Wellbutrin and Prozac(have taken Prozac since 1995..)and at the risk of sounding like a cult member I've been "inspired" to do so without fear becuz no matter how "down" I've felt sometimes & bleak, when I watch CYE my whole outlook changes, or rather goes back to what it was before the blues set in! I like all the subtle expressions (especially the "disapproving" looks, looks of annoyance/irritation, the "dull minded" looks ETCETERA) of the different characters and Larry's response (or lack of.. to these are truly hilarious! I love the way he "addresses" all the self righteous pompous idiots encountered with their incessant babble, he is definitely "addressing" the moron factor so prevalent! A good example is the bowling alley shoe thief, when Larry is retrieving his shoes and the exchange that ensues...I'm laughing right now just thinking about it!
