Rules of cutting on a public line

Do you think that if you see a friend at the store, and you are waiting on a long line for something, that it's okay to let your friend or family member cut/go in front of you on the line or is it necessary to get permission from

1) everyone on the line
2) a majority of people waiting on the line
3) it's okay if it's family member but not friends

I think this would be a good subject to explore on CYE.

I dont think its ok no matter who they are! LOL. They need to wait in line just like everyone else has. Especially if I had been waiting in a long line for quite some time, I'd be ticked if someone walked up and got in front of people just because they knew someone else. KWIM?

BTW, am I the only one that says "Wait IN line" instead of "Wait ON line"? lol

I think it's ok to cut in line if:

The entire group will be waiting for a long time just because of one friend or family.
