Have you ever carried a solid casket on an uneven muddy road then up stairs by yourself? Damn heavy thing, and the odd shape didn't help either. It may be fine to do for one, maybe two takes, but seven and eight takes into the scene and even the balsa gets a bit tiresome. I know because I had to grab it from him at the front door of his house and take it back to the hardware store after each take.

Easy, Rapid. Balsa(Spanish for "raft") is a very renewable resource. from seedling to harvested tree can be as little 2 years. A balsa tree 1 1/2 ' in diameter is only 5 to 6 years old. Besides the balsa coffin was so William could kick his way out when cued. During WWII, the big one, My father was with a command sent very early to fortify the Canal Zone. They were sent to a hill over looking the locks and were to clear jungle for and AA guns. A huge log lay right in the middle of the gun site. Leaving it for last they work several days leveling etc. Finally they got the entire work group ready to push it down over the hillside. On the count of 3 they heaved and all hell broke loose, Guys went flat on their faces. Some went over the log and got run over in turn by the log. Some went rolling down the hill into the jungle. It was balsa. -- Edited by Marc5222 at 11/03/2009 6:01 AM PST

I'm still trying to get over the newly discovered fact that there needed to be a balsa wood William coffin. Big ol' Tim couldn't manage an empty pine coffin? Say it ain't so. Couldn't you use Hollywood magic and build it 3/5ths size or something? Hell, CGI it! And where is the "Green" Hollywood anyway? You know, the one that gave Gore an Oscar. You know how many Balsa trees there are in the world? One less now that William needed two fuckin' coffins and Timmy is feeble, that's for sure. You ought to be reported to the Fuckin' Sierra Club. Bastards. I'll never watch weak limbed Timmy in another action film. Willis is still the king!

Wow. Phuckin' phab, CG - thanks for that. I printed out all those scripts, have them in a massive 3 ring binder, indexed with episode pics. To have all those words in print....to read, as well as to watch and listen. Like I said, we are indebted to her. And that amazingly fast turnaround time. What a whiz she is.
