I HATED the novel...don't get all the critical love for Cormac McCarthy though his style does have a hypnotic appeal...but I want to see the film because I loved what the director,John Hillcoat, did with his previous film,"The Proposition"...now there was a Nihilist Masterwork...

Went to see That Was That, er ah, This is It - the MJ tribute film of his rehearsal phootage. Okay....as a documentary its mediocre. MJ comes across as a truly sweet, dedicated super talent. But we already knew that. And he isn't, of course, giving 100%, saving voice and physical strength - understandable. 1. What you come away with is the realization these concerts would have been extraordinarily spectacular. 2. A warm feeling that all those hard working, dedicated, dancers, musicians, back up singers, stage crew, costumers, etc. etc. got to see themselves in a film and hopefully they all get their own personal copy on DVD. I would recommend this film for one thing - and its got nothing to do with MJ. The female guitarist. A Taylor Swift look and persona she is phenomenal in the way she plays. Like nothing I've ever heard since Jimi Hendrix. Honest to gawd. GO SEE THIS MOVIE JUST TO HEAR HER PLAY! The Sawmill theatre here in Payson had about 16 people for this 3rd day showing. Except for 2, all were 50 or older. That impressed me. Of course it was a school day at 1:00. Still. Now, I have to repeat myself because that gal's performance will stick in my head for days. And I can't remember her name except it was very unusual. First name was something like Oriethalis or somethin like that. ANYWAY - GO SEE THIS MOVIE JUST TO HEAR HER PLAY!!! I'm done. Now I must fire off some hostile missives on a different platform. (I'm having a war with a cunt about my blog.) www.phayemuss.wordpress.com Contract-for-hire types please respond.

I watched They Shoot Horses Dont They on AMC....wow. I forgot what an incredible cast that was. Also, I bought tickets online for me and a friend to go down to Phoenix to see This is It, figuring our local theatre wouldn't show it. Well, they are, on the 28th. Still, I think that kind of flick would be a better experience viewed with, er ah, people who dont go into Burger King with a sidearm.
