Seems folks here in Deadwood have alot to offer on the subject of politics. It's all over the place in so many threads its hard for a hoople like me to find it all. So i thought maybe if there was a single thread for political opinion and debate it might be easier to indulge in reading it. I hope so anyways cause some of the stuff I've read in here has all the promise of a good Sunday morning pundit throw down. But a lot fuckin wittier and funnier. Thanks. -- auBoy Jackass of all trades, master of one.

Where's Eccles at the old chap? Remember when we messed round with the mullet man story? The bird keeper, semi Seminole royalty, ex Chippendale yard keeper who was taking care of a farm and exotic birds? We goofed round and did some murder mystery about the mullet man and his maybe Mrs? I said the real mullet actually saved a rare bird in the river etc... Well the actual mullet man, the real one I based my man on, is almost famous... And he's actually a nice enough fella but somehow he got stuck on this site... This is the actual man I know.....someone sniped him, it was not me, at Wally World... The Mullet Man No shit this is the actual Mullet Man me and Eccles rambled about... And the pix does not do the mullet justice...most of it is hidden He is the man second down listed under BAMF.... Hell Eccles we have a book cover....and maybe Bon has a soap...

O said during the campaign that he would concentrate on Afganistan, he never said he would withdraw. I'm as frustrated as anyone about the situations with the wars, but I don't think one can say we have the status quo.

Yeah, and we all know what happens when Skynet becomes self aware.

Where it gets whacky is when robots are used in the plants that make the robotic arms.

This is no surge. Even in military parlance a surge does not take an additional 3 years. 34,000 more soldiers fighting for 3 more years is no surge. How many allied soldiers will have pulled out in 3 years and replaced by how many more, if any more from our allies? Where will Iran be in 3 years with its nuclear weapons development? Where will our economy be in 3 years? Will it have crest in an upward surge? How improved will things be in 3 years to assure us a second term with Barry? It's been a fast year but progress on his agenda has been miniscule compared to the big CHANGE everyone hoped for. A landlocked Congress has crippled much of that agenda and the demented Right has succeeded in their propaganda to the extent there is a general malaise where there should be REVOLT! I'm not hopeful kids. I'm not hopeful that 36 months will turn Afghanistan around and be free of the Taliban. I'm not hopeful we can re-educate those that hate us into loving us in 36 months. I'm not sure we can afford the big payoff. Our government can't even afford the same kind of volume of contracts they did in WWII that turned the economy around. And yet, our DOD contracts are sustainable - in war or peace. 34,000 and 3 years. Then there's still Iraq. And then there's Iran. And what about Mexico when the gangsta cartels overthrow the government entirely? This is no surge. This is a stationary march. I can hear the laughter from those desert hills already. -- Edited by phayemuss at 12/01/2009 12:40 PM PST -- Edited by phayemuss at 12/01/2009 12:46 PM PST

Japanese Jobless recovery? "Huge sheets of glass are guided by robotic arms, sliding and turning in a towering germ-free plant, the world's first making giant '10th generation' panels for flat screen TVs." Japanese electronics maker Sharp's "futuristic-looking plant doesn't have a single worker on the floor." Each sheet "is being made and tested by computerized machines."

President Obama will announce tonight that he will send 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan "but plans to conclude the war and withdraw most U.S. soldiers within three years," senior administration officials tell CNN. The president is ordering military officials to get the reinforcements to Afghanistan within six months. That is a brave promise if he makes it. Time for the Afghans to shit or get off the pot.
