Politics in DEADWOOD -Bring It !

Seems folks here in Deadwood have alot to offer on the subject of politics. It's all over the place in so many threads its hard for a hoople like me to find it all.

So i thought maybe if there was a single thread for political opinion and debate it might be easier to indulge in reading it.

I hope so anyways cause some of the stuff I've read in here has all the promise of a good Sunday morning pundit throw down. But a lot fuckin wittier and funnier.

Thanks.

The "Surge" in Iraq didn't work(creating a space in which the political process could work...it temporarily tamped down the violence but no real political stability has been achieved)...the new "Surge" in Afghanistan will achieve what?...the President will tell us tonight...I think that it was Rapid who told me weeks ago that I wouldn't be happy no matter what the President decided...but how can I be happy when a man who is obviously superior in every way to his disgraceful predecessor maintains the same failed policies?...I was among those who blamed Nader in 2000 and told him to Shut Up in 2008...but he's being proven right about the Status Quo being maintained no matter which party wins...

Strange thing the press mostly ignored in the midst of Tiger, the troop surge, Turkey Day, and Charlie Weiss...a Senate report found that old Rummie and Tommy Franks let a weakened and trapped Bin Bin Laden escape through the back door all those years ago....despite Special forces pleas to slam shut the Pakistani back door...

Franks disliked the Special Forces guys, and did not have his conventional plan in place, and Rummie must been dropping his wee snowflakes those little white missives he loved to send for nit picky things that bothered him daily...

Or maybe their minds were in Iraq...who knows but what a fuck up...

I mean we still would have bumbled down the Iraq highway for Daddy Bush and Brother Oil but offing Bin Bin so quickly might have been a death blow to the Taliban tango.....and its Pakistan pals that brought Bin Bin out the back door.

Rummie and Franks have surely had soft big money landings somewhere..unlike the troops still on the ground.

Well it was supposed to happen a few shows back so its likely a lie....I can believe how cretins lie on the net.

But I'd say Piney's possible as, and I hope its the makeup, he looks like he should not buy too many green bananas...

Or Charlie Utter has the new kids seems to be moving in....

Or Tara so Cwistopher from the Sopranos, currently in Desperate Housewives witness protection, can come back...

And Jimmmy.....

How bout dem Saints?

McShane as Tig's father?

Hey - thanks a lot for the spoiler I hadn't heard! I can't imagine who they can spare that would be impactful. Anyway, doesn't Luann count? I guess after this week, we should expect a body count. Get me some odds, and we'll start a pool. Didn't we used to do this for every ep of DW?

Funny you should knock the bandanna,Solong...I told my wife that Clay looked like an Old-Guy-Biker-Wannabee...but she liked the look...like SOA...a lot...and Arkin/Rollins have underplayed the Racist Villains beautifully...Hitlerian-Foaming-At-The-Mouth Stereotypes would have looked comical and unconvincing but they are conveying the Big Lie of "rational" faux-Christian hatred very, very well...I hope that we don't lose Dayton Callie next season...I "discovered" him as Charlie Utter and he's always an utter(ouch!) joy to watch...

I do love SOA, but Clay needs to ditch that bandana. I thought of the Jets and Sharks instead of taking that fight scene seriously. I'm bad.
I like the Doc beating up that nasty administrator. I think she is a very naughty girl under that white lab coat. Prolly been itching to do that since she started working at that hospital.

They used to do radio together methinks....Maas was Dan Marino's bro in law for awhile.

Charlie Weis had to be led away from his California recruiting "visits" by Irish armed guards...it was kind of like The Last Detail.

Henry Rollins has to go on tour so he is toast.

As is Adam Arkin. The next year needs a new foe...

Jimmy O might be it.

The spoiler was a key player from season one bites it this season...maybe it was false flak.

Maybe its Tara...

Or perhaps she turns to porn...

The creator says he has a five season Hamlet arc....which means it ends next year with Clay cleaning some dead whores blood off the clubhouse floor.

Charlie Utter might off Arkin.....

Seems obviously to be his goal, but it's small school KS ball - though he got players into Fla. and OU. Meanwhile, I will barf if I find out he and Maas are actually buds. They do not seem alike at all, and around here we are either on Bill's team or Frankie the First Wife's team - I'm Frankie all the way. Plus, coach is a youth. Maas was already a sleazy old bag of fat when TG graduated from ND. Edited to add: And a plagiarist of the lowest order. I know kindegartners more savvy. I can't believe they still let him work in media.

Yes, it was the opposite of the previous ep, which was the best of the series, I thought, and even if it ends up with everyone hugging and singing Kumbaya, I have to know what happens next. Will they back the flatbed through the wall of the Charming jail in order to do Zoebelle?? Isn't someone going to kill Jimmy O? Will Tara be the next one arrested, or will she take Luann's place in thigh high boots? And Henry Rollins is 100% ripped - so is the guy they recruited from Oklahoma City PD to lead Tacoma. Where are our Oz scenes??

Meanwhile, Dexter last night was the scariest and most disturbing since season 1.

And a bad Bowl game named after it...don't forget that.

Speaking of the Alamo where is The Last Command? The Duke despised it and did a jihad John Wayne on it to make it go away.

Sterling Hayden as Jim Bowie? Duke knew Hayden could have kicked his ass in real life, and maybe reel life, so he let him be but stuffed the movie.

And speaking of bad bowls Charlie Weis's last game just might be the Papa John's Pizza Bowl[formerly the artist know as the Motor City Bowl] against the dreaded Central Michigan Chippewas............no I am not making this up.

Charlie and the Chippewas does that not sound like a bad fifties rock band?

And Charlie gets free pies and has to pose around empty boxes....

And there's nothing like Detroit in December....
