Seems folks here in Deadwood have alot to offer on the subject of politics. It's all over the place in so many threads its hard for a hoople like me to find it all. So i thought maybe if there was a single thread for political opinion and debate it might be easier to indulge in reading it. I hope so anyways cause some of the stuff I've read in here has all the promise of a good Sunday morning pundit throw down. But a lot fuckin wittier and funnier. Thanks. -- auBoy Jackass of all trades, master of one.

Talk about a speech having legs. Talk about a prophetic speech. Talk about contemporary. Talk about George Washington's Farewell Address. And another thing: Can people in Michigan see Alaska from their house? And while I'm at it: What if the Pilgrims served up deer instead of Turkey? Imagine deer farms. Bet you didn't know there's a restaurant called Twitter in Hyde Park, NY where the gourmet chefs are 19 and 20 years old. The owner, a Culinary Institute of America grad, hired them 2 years ago as bus boys; was so impressed by their enthusiasm, desire and skills, personally trained them. Owner now retired. The two guys run the place. Amazing phood. In Fall River, MA, whenever you see a 14 or 15 year old pushing a stroller, the baby or babies inside, are hers. Four more businesses closed in Payson during the 12 days I was gone. A bobcat came onto my property last night while I was on the rear deck staring at the moon. I stood still. He stared. I backed up to the screen. He moved on. Obama's getting grey. Those daily security briefings will do that to ya. Suri Cruise slipped in her litty bitty high heels the other day. I pray for her continued safety. Guiliani and Sarah Palin 2012. It's enough to make you think the world will end. 9 Victoria Secret models were at the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast. I kid you not. Said one in the morning while we all sat in the dining room: "So is this, like, uh, where they had breakfast?." And another: "Is this an original tablecloth?." I wanted to slap their faces with double cheeseburgers. Southwest Airlines now has a "Menu" sheet, laminated even, in the front seat pockets. "Nuts, roasted." "Crispy Oreo Cookie Strips", "Cheese-Cracker Packets", "Salty Pretzels"....it's the Menu. I asked the flight attendant why there were none of those little blue blankies. "Health issues". I said: "You mean Swine Flu?" She repeated Health Issues. Why do we persist in using language that just doesn't say what we mean? Oh, hell, carnal knowledge it.

You are not Jimmy. You are the ghost of Jimmy. A poor facsimile made on the Asian rim. A Pernod hangover nightmare produced on Bourbon street. The real Jimmy is dead.

We do the list annually, but we also make lots of changes. There are a couple of ladies of leisure who spend all their time reading, and they often read ahead and pass on withering negative judgement that does thin the herd. Curiously, no one tried to read The Christmas Sweater ahead.
