Seems folks here in Deadwood have alot to offer on the subject of politics. It's all over the place in so many threads its hard for a hoople like me to find it all.
So i thought maybe if there was a single thread for political opinion and debate it might be easier to indulge in reading it.
I hope so anyways cause some of the stuff I've read in here has all the promise of a good Sunday morning pundit throw down. But a lot fuckin wittier and funnier.

As a Philadelphian,born and bred,who has had to endure incessant media coverage of the Eagles for 60-odd years(and I haven't watched a game since the early '70's) I heartily wish the Bears well,Solong...Good,Bad or Indifferent the Eagles are always the "Big" story around here and it is always boring...but it at least provides a little Schadenfreude when they lose...

Bears vs. Eagles tonight. 
I feel like a traitor if I don't watch, but honestly lately it's just too painful.
The Bears have been known to pull a miracle out of their asses from time to time and that's what I'm hoping for tonight.

When the CBO scores, it only loks at things as long as 10 years out. In this legislation, not everything begins immediately or all at the same time. So their statistical model says that about 94% of people will be covered by the end of a decade. That means about 60% of those that aren't covered now will be covered. Its kind of a moving target, with some people qualifying for Medicare in that time, and some immigration, ect. The best the CBO can do is look at trending.

With the last Senator making her proclamation, I think that without any surprises, the Senate Health Care Measure will go to the floor tonight. Which gives you a damn good chance of some version of it passing. Sure, it may be a little early to declare victory, but its a pretty safe bet.
Do we keep on coming or stand and wait
with the sun so dark and the hour so late?
Sen. Patrick Leahy and Boone know where that comes from.

Joseph Cao...Republican congressman from Lousiana...sounds like a Good Guy...with a good bio...obviously bright but he says the ONLY reason he's a Republican is their "Pro-Life" stance...I know why the morons fall in line and vote against their own best interests(Fear and Rage is all they can respond to) but why can't someone like Cao see the hypocrisy of the Republicans...or is the answer simply found in his religion?...
