> You really have to see the cover of People magazine. > I have no words. Now that I've had a few hours to ruminate, I have some words. For those of you who haven't seen it, the cover features Palin holding the prop (Trig) and the 7 year old daughter looking on lovingly (in place of the father it seems) and a small photo below of the pregnant Bristol. What are we supposed to take away from this? Here's my family and boy am I a good mom? Or, here's my family, just the fucked up part? Whichever way you cut it, it is the most disgusting example of a politician exploiting her family to garner votes that I have ever seen. It is way over the fucking top.

I do feel sorry for the school, though.

Late last night I get home from work and my wife tells me that her elementary school was on tv.....right behind McCain's head. Even though she's a Democrat, she pittied the Republicans for the blunder, and felt even worse for her school being associated with them. -- Edited by unclemajohn at 09/06/2008 11:40 AM PDT

The Republican choices for President and Vice-President could be the basis for a really bad sitcom, and probably will be if they don't win. Watching people being interviewed after the convention speeches, I can only assume they were all on mood elevators. The fact that SP refers to her husband as the First Dude really tells you all you need to know. My standards for politicians at this level of government are quite a bit higher than a "maverick" and a "hockey mom". Not good enough. Not even close. What we don't need is an elderly senator who doesn't understand the economy and pledges to strand our troops in Iraq for at least 8 more years, paired with a brash, ignorant politician getting her jollies playing celebrity. It's time for Obama/Biden to remind the voters what's what.

This afternoon on a radio talk show, it was said that polls reveal that SP had the independent women (those who were polled) until she got "snarky". They didn't like that. The opinion of the radio reporter is that there will be no more "barracuda" and more Mrs. Bible Thump.

Baby Daddy cleaned up good, didn't he? And as for SP not being home to care for her baby, I will say this. If you have really adequate baby sitters, such as a 7 year old sister, then there is nothing wrong with working outside the home.

My boss said that as a Navy veteran he feels he is obligated to support McCain. Bullshit! I said, support him for king of the Navy then, but not for president. He wishes Mitt had gotten the nomination. He has no regard for TWWWBV.

This is a wonderful game of what goes around, comes around. The conservatives are getting their asses handed to them at every turn. The cosmos is meting out payback. I fervently hope that the guy who shtooped the woman who would be veep (TWWWBV) is a raving liberal, bisexual Peta member.

Jaysus, these Alaskans like to fuck, don't they? There is a rumor that the Enquirer has the story on SP getting a little extramarital nookie about a year ago. That would be the nail in the coffin, wouldn't it?
